I was wondering how high you'd put Spiller. I'm surprised to see Anthony Davis behind Iupati. I don't like the Dunlap inclusion at all. Although his body type at 6'6" 280 lbs. could make him a 3-4 DE prospect (and an incredibly athletic one at that), his inconsistency, laziness, sloppy play, and overall poor intangibles make me think that he is just a bigger version of former Gator Huey Richardson.

McClain really benefitted from having Cody in front of him. His long arms and instincts gets him around the ball at the college level. He is not a good blitzer. He gets stoned because he comes in too high. He is more of a wrap up tackler. He isn't good at changing direction and lumbers upright when he runs through traffic. He isn't good in space and will struggle in man coverage at the next level. He will be a two down LB. He will be one of those players that is ready for the field out of the gates because of instincts and experience. His upside is limited and in 2-3 years he could flatten out. I actually like Spikes better than McClain in coverage & blitzing. McClains intincts are far better than Spikes. Weatherspoon has the most upside out of the three. The sky is the limited for him because of his athleticism. McClain & Spikes will be solid starters in the NFL but Spoon, in my opinion, will be special. Derrick Brooks special.

I see we have all the same guys in our top 18, just in a slightly different order. I guess great minds think alike. I briefly toyed with putting Berry first myself (absolutely love the guy), but Suh is amazing as well...couldn't go wrong either way. We agree that Trent Williams is the least desirable of the OT prospects (I think he'll be solid on the next level, but he may only be a RT on the next level...I think you need LT feet to be an elite prospect there).

Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers, reports NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock said he believes the Oakland Raiders could look to select an offensive tackle with their first-round pick in the NFL Draft. "I think offensive tackle becomes a primary need and I think there are four of them worth taking in the first nine or 10 picks," Mayock said. "It wouldn't surprise me to see the Raiders wind up with (Rutgers OT) Anthony X. Davis, (Oklahoma OL) Trent Williams, (Iowa OT) Bryan Bulaga, and of course, (Oklahoma State OT) Russell Okung."

That's a shock that you would be the guy who brought up that point!

"Derrick Brooks Special" is more about the range and the complete LB. 3 down LB that does everything. The range of a S but the run stopping of a LB. This kid in a 3-4 running clean to the ball will give OCs nightmares.

Just watch Alabama game highlights, Florida game highlights, and Mizz game highlights on youtube. Spoon is never out of a play and is very ballanced to stay on his feet. His athleticism keeps him in a play no matter how heavy the trash or players on the ground. McClain "lumbers" to the ball and I see OL getting on him and giving him problems in the NFL. He doesn't have the speed to recover coming off a block outside the tackles. Mcclain doesn't have good change of direction so he will struggle with cutback runners.
In this new NFL, that is the majority of the backs.

If he falls to the Steelers and the Steelers pick him...God, I hope I am wrong! But in all honesty, even before the combine, seeing some tape on both guys...I know who I like. The evolving league and what the Steelers ask of their LBs today...Spoon is a better fit and will be the better LB. Unless Mcclain was half ass'n it in those games and puts up some great cone times at the combine...My opinion won't change.

Want to lay odds that 'Spoon get the "not stout enough against the run" label if we would have him play ILB for us and have the continued lamentation for the "great" Larry Foote.

Weatherspoon IMO does not fit ILB for us and I would rather see them grab Brandon Graham and move him to ILB. No question about "Stout" at that point.

Weatherspoon IMO does not fit ILB for us and I would rather see them grab Brandon Graham and move him to ILB. No question about "Stout" at that point.

O...Like I said in another post to you...Moving Graham to ILB would be like moving Woodley to ILB. His specialty is getting to the QB. Spoon played off the LOS at Mizz. Graham played with his hand in the dirt and standing up at the LOS. The scouts told him inside in a 3-4 & outside weakside in a 4-3. I provided the interview on youtube and Mayock even talked about it. Farrior & Timmons aren't stout but SPoon is very stout. Did you see this guy? Did you watch the Senior Bowl? Watch some Mizz game highlights on youtube and tell me he isn't stout. He is a "sudden player". More sudden then the wrap up tackler McClain. He has explosive athleticism and it show up on tape. He covered McCluster at the Senior Bowl man-to-man out of the backfield.

Actually it would not surprise me at all to see the Raiders go after Spiller. It is just the type of move Davis would make.

C'mon...we all know Davis will be slobbering over Taylor Mays. He's got the speed, size, strength, and athletic ability that he cannot possibly resist. He's the Darrius Heyward-Bey of the defense. DHB looks great in workouts but can't catch, so watch the Raiders draft him in the top 10 as a WR! Mays looks great in workouts but can't cover anyone and has no ball skills, so watch the Raiders draft him in the top 10 for their secondary.

Round One/Pick 18—Best Case Scenario—Bruce Campbell/OT/Maryland


The Steelers’ offensive line play in 2009 was abysmal to say the least. While Ben Roethlisberger can be accused of holding on to the ball too long, he hasn’t exactly had the time he needs to pass from the pocket either.

In a best-case scenario, the Steelers are looking to address the offensive line with a big-time prospect, and Maryland’s Bruce Campbell would still be on the board when they are picking at No. 18.

Campbell is a physical specimen at the left tackle position. Standing at 6'7", he has the length and reach that NFL teams salivate over when it comes to left tackles.

If Campbell has scouts salivating over his height and length, then he has them drooling over the fact that he is abnormally fit for a man of his size and football position. Weighing in at only 310 pounds, the junior has the agility and quickness of a much smaller player. (He has been timed running a sub 4.9 in the 40).

Overall, the big left tackle’s pass-blocking skills are what set him apart from the rest of the field. Having Campbell protecting Roethlisberger’s blindside would be a welcome addition to the offensive line that gave up 50 sacks last season.

Round One/Pick 18—Best Case Scenario—Bruce Campbell/OT/Maryland


The Steelers’ offensive line play in 2009 was abysmal to say the least. While Ben Roethlisberger can be accused of holding on to the ball too long, he hasn’t exactly had the time he needs to pass from the pocket either.

In a best-case scenario, the Steelers are looking to address the offensive line with a big-time prospect, and Maryland’s Bruce Campbell would still be on the board when they are picking at No. 18.

Campbell is a physical specimen at the left tackle position. Standing at 6'7", he has the length and reach that NFL teams salivate over when it comes to left tackles.

If Campbell has scouts salivating over his height and length, then he has them drooling over the fact that he is abnormally fit for a man of his size and football position. Weighing in at only 310 pounds, the junior has the agility and quickness of a much smaller player. (He has been timed running a sub 4.9 in the 40).

Overall, the big left tackle’s pass-blocking skills are what set him apart from the rest of the field. Having Campbell protecting Roethlisberger’s blindside would be a welcome addition to the offensive line that gave up 50 sacks last season.

Campbell very well could be Top 10 talent and build but his injury history pushes him down in the 1st. Some people say if he returned for his senior year and stayed healthy...He might be a Top 10 pick. He has questions on durability but not talent!
