Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

I highly doubt they go into the draft with a hole at Center, hoping to get someone. JPJ could be gone by #20 and Frazier could be gone by #51.

They will want a known quantity at Center before the draft

        1. Staying local

For the past three years, the Steelers have used the combine to evaluate players from area colleges that they eventually took with a high-round draft pick.

The run began with Penn State tight end Pat Freiermuth in 2021, continued with Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett in 2022 and detoured back to Happy Valley last year with cornerback Joey Porter Jr.

If that trend makes it to a fourth year, chances are the Steelers will be looking south at West Virginia and center Zach Frazier.

One of the top three centers in the draft, Frazier sustained a leg injury on the final drive of the Mountaineers regular-season finale. He couldn't work out at the Senior Bowl but has a chance to participate in some drills in Indianapolis.

The position was one the Steelers figured to address in the draft before they released two-year starter Mason Cole on Friday. With no established starting center on the roster, the Steelers could sign someone in free agency. Even if they do, finding someone to follow in the footsteps of Maurkice Pouncey, Dermontti Dawson and Mike Webster surely is high atop the team's wish list.

NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah has Frazier rated as his No. 32 overall player in this year's class. That means he could be a reach for the Steelers at No. 20, and it's not a given he will still be on the board when they draft again at No. 52.

February began with college football’s top prospects descending on Mobile, Ala., to take part in the Senior Bowl. It will end with another congregation in a confined environment, this time the annual NFL Combine in Indianapolis. Prospects begin meeting with NFL coaches and executives as early as Tuesday, with on-field

If they do that, just get the best one and eliminate a draft need.

Hmmm, I've heard the story about not sending brass west of the Mississippi, did they change that to west of the confluence?

If he is 32nd, I don’t think it is a big reach.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

I read a mock on Steelers Depot recently where we trade with KC for the 32nd pick and get an extra second round pick. In that scenario, we draft Frazier at the end of the first and then address CB and LB in the second. I'd be happy with that.

The difference being I wouldn't tip my hand like they do. Watch Miami leap-frog us and take JPJ. Remember a few season back when Cinci selected the CB a spotahead of us and we had to reach for Artie Burns? I can't recall if Cinci was slotted there or they leap-frogged us.

I like Frazier but I think the Steelers are also very high on DL from tOSU Michael Hall Jr. I?ll show my homerism and suggest we grab Hall in the second, and Pran in the third. First round will land likely with a DB or OT.

if we landed both Frazier and Hall I would be good with that. I’ll let Tomlin know.

Steelers were "high on Malik Willis" too....

NBC Sports Thor Nystrom reported that the buzz throughout the Senior Bowl was that the Steelers? interest in Willis was very real. It?s a sense felt throughout the league, with Pittsburgh?s front office reportedly extremely high on the Liberty quarterback.

How'd that work out? I don't trust any source saying what the Steelers interests are.

I think their interest was high, I remeber that photo of Tomlin beaming at him. They decided to choose Pickett instead.

Wait. Tomlin had his choice of either. How high could he have been on Willis to choose the other guy?
