Yes, the NCAF is about ratings and no one aside from FSU fans wants to see a back up QB. Georgia is who has a 29 game winning steak narrowly losing to good Alabama team with it key receivers gimpy , got screwed. There should be a 6 or 8 team format. But for now it is four. The college playoffs is exciting and rather tribal.

I like it. If you are beat up early and lose a couple, should still have a shot to run the table when healthy.

First round will be home/away by seed, should be all rounds, IMO, except the championship. The NFL playoffs is the greatest in all sports, college football is being smart to emulate it.

nah, this is the best idea ever. Let the play on the field decide the winner instead of a bunch of empty suits handpicking teams.

Pretty sure every sport BUT Division 1 football has a playoff format. Why is that?

Lacrosse, Soccer, Volleyball, baseball..

They're beholden to the bowls -- they've tried to shoehorn the playoffs into the bowl system and this is what we got.

these bowls are trash anyway. Too many of them and most are empty.

all these teams and players hopping from team to team and conference to conference.

just use the bowls for playoff games or better yet, start the year off with bowl games and better matchups to start the season.

Top 4 get a bye, 8 teams play home/away I assume on what is now "championship Saturday". At least I hope they're doing away with the conference championship games.

If not, the Big 10 needs to lose the divisions.

Big10 is scrapping the divisions now that they have added Pac 12 teams.

Gotcha.. yeah, I agree, this is to make sure the networks can still pick 4 teams for the bye to try and curate the best outcome.
