What QB that scored under 20 did well post Jim Kelley who has been retired since 1996 ...nearly 30 years. Well? I can name a ton over 20. Playing qb is harder mentally now than it was 30 or more years ago. But you say it does not matter.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

While he was better than Kenny today, he should have had 2 or 3 TOs, got lucky. Showed the pocket presence, or lack thereof, that got him hurt in the NFCC.

TJ Watt is a HOF player in his prime. He can pressure any QB! I disagree he escaped the rush, moved well in the pocket, threw well on the run, and ran a bit.

Mat Corral to be released this week.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Yeah not too impressed with his pocket presence, he just seems to be another average QB who happens to be playing for arguably the best coached offensive team in the NFL.

If it is so relevant, why did the NFL stop using it?

You guys are right that Purdy is average, but what does that make KP8?

I've watched both play several times now and Brock is just plain better at this stage. They both lack pocket awareness at times, but Purdy makes better decisions and has better ball placement.

I wish the Steeler quarterback sucked like him.

Purdy doesn't have the zip on his passes back yet from the surgery. A lot of his passes floated on him. BUT he was accurate, he made good decisions & he scrambled well to make passes & runs.

Another week. Time to update the rankings.

                      1. Purdy is very good. Zero turnovers. 17-25 206. He is a top ten QB, winning ever regular season game he has started.

                      2. Howell. He's 3-0 as a starter coming off a game where he had to pass a lot. He was 29-39, 299 yards. Two TD's, zero interceptions. A tough minded guy. He had the best performance in the class last week.
Appears to be trending as a better the average staring QB.

                      3. Ridder. He has a great back to play with in Robinson, and went 19-32 237 yards 1 td and 1 in. I think he's not better than average by starting QB standards. IE ... a QB you replace.

                      4. Pickett. 15-30 222 yards 1 td, 1 int. He has an A+ receiver in Pickens that makes his stats look acceptable ( 71 yard td ) but his play was not good. He was off again on several throws and should have been interpreted twice. We won but the defense scored twice, which is the main reason why we won. He's not a franchise QB. He's not a top 15 QB either

We could have had all three qb's. For a 4th or 7th round pick we get Howell or Purdy. Ridder I think went in round three. He doesn't look like the answer. And Pickett is 4th on the list of the 2nd year QB's who start.

I think this rookie QB class is very over rated! But next years projected QB class is loaded. IMO, we should pick one of them.

where would this QB rate then?

24/33 for 237 yds with 2 TDs and zero turnovers in addition to rushing for 54 yds?

                              that stat line is bad

but Hawaiians stat line is good.
