And I'm here for it. Love how the Ravens use that big galoot, Ricard, who is basically the same size. This is the kind of innovation I like to see.

I know Arthur Moats suggested this on one of his podcasts and I thought it was a good idea. They can use Connor Heyward as the hybrid, TE H-back and i'm sure he can block also. But if they want to go big fullback mode and straight ahead or trap blocking, which they actually don't do a lot of, then Green would be a good candidate for that.Last edited by Steelerphile; 08-05-2023, 07:47 PM.Comment

it was not all that long ago we took a D-Lineman (Rosie Nix) and turned him into a FB so there is that@dwinsgames on twitter .... Kenny Pickett is who I thought he was ....Comment

Right you are. Except Nix was a good NFL FB and top special teams player. He was. Green is not a good special teams player and does not have the movement skill IMO to make a good FB. So his value is? While I applaud the creativity of the move I doubt it will end up in a roster spot.Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.
Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.
*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***Comment

First, he has twice the career receptions as Watt, and he's mainly there to block. You have to worry about blockers.Comment

thry we’re inside the 10 in one particular play I remember and threw him the ball.
he looked , as I expected, like an elephant trying to catch the thing.
he was also the target on the int that led to the epic choke job against the giants.
you do know their OC was fired right?
were you a fan of OT mike adams running routes down the Field?
Have you not stated this offense needs “more explosive plays” ?Comment

I'm sure he'll remind us too (if he hasn't already, but at least it wasn't the first reply).Comment

Maybe you'd be more worried about him leading the running back for a touchdown? Do you not want more touchdowns in the Red Zone? Also, if he's the lead blocker and he's over 300 lbs, he's not going to be the priority to guard him if they want to throw him the ball. You can call plays to set up other plays. That's what you do in football when designing plays and play calling. That's why teams show a play with him catching a pass. They want other teams to consider that he can catch the ball. It influences the way defenses react to plays when they see certain sets and formations.
Sure, short yardage and goal line situations are where you would think they would use him most, but who knows. I just don't get the hate. If it works....it works.Comment

I wanted to see this badly.
Was just about to show up to CROW about it.
I never thought Id really see it though.
I thought Mr Mullet was going to dash the chance of that happening before he decided to hang it up.sigpic
In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

I think some of you are forgetting just how awful the Steelers were on 3rd or 4th down and short yardage just a few years ago. Like, last in the league awful. Like, they wouldn't even bother running for 1 or 2 yards.
They corrected this in a big way last season.Comment
