There's one remaining 'excuse'.... injuries. A key one can wreck the season.

Then there is the 2010 Packers, who led the league in starters who were out and won the Super Bowl?

You could label them a team of destiny.
Btw, how did the QB's compare in that game?

True. But other teams deal with them as well.

amd more times than not those with significant injuries to key players don’t have a lot of post season success.

that's the resume he had when interviewing for the steelers head coach opening in 2007.

through the years you've heard of the "hot coordinator" being hired for a head coaching position, right?

that's not what happened here. its obvious there were other factors involved.... ie the rooney rule
IIRC, his pass defense was raked last and his run defense was ranked 1st. I remember thinking it was strange. But I believe the overall defense had improved by quite a bit after he took over.

I rewatched that game recently. That game was closer than I remember. The Steelers ran better and passed almost as good. The turnovers doomed the Steelers. A play here or there who knows The turnover by Mendenhall at a critical stage of the game........... The Steelers could had easily won that game. Final score Packers 31 Steelers 25.

If Kemoeatu doesn't get driven back into Ben's chest, the Steelers might have pulled to within 14-10 instead of falling down 21-3 on the pick six.

If Ben connected with Wallace on a deep throw where Wallace was wide open.

I don't think so. 4th QT. Wallace wide open on 3rd and 5. Ben missed him.

how's that turning out? in the game being discussed, packers had 50 yards rushing.

rodgers passed for 330 + yards and without several drops could have had 500 passing yards.

when the time comes, with the hiring of the next coach maybe we can find someone good at stopping the wishbone offense

That's funny! Well is really sad.

Tomlin is a lucky man to have Rooney. He was lucky on the football field to win nine games. The 1st game vs Cincy he got five turnovers, Burrow's career worst game, and a long snapper got hurt with cause the Bengals to miss an easy field goal. That is the definition of luck. But it is the reason why we had a winning season.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

was it luck for our opponents when Watt missed all those games?

was it luck when Pickett left the Baltimore game after 2 possessions and Mitch threw 3 INT’s on the Baltimore side of the field?

Why is it only luck when other teams have injuries or miss FG’s and we win?

When we have injuries and lose its bad coaching.

That Cincinnati game wasn’t luck. That was Minkah, Watt and company playing their asses off and never giving up on a play.

speaking of Wallace and 4th qt...

If the game was on the line and I needed a catch to be made, there's no way that final pass isn't going to Hines -- I don't care if he's triple covered, he's catching it -- now he may get an offensive PI along the way, but at least you live to play another down...
