Are you arguing that we aren't rebuilding?

Because that seems kind of silly.

We aren't going full tank Buffalo Sabers style where you trade all of your good players for picks. But I think it's really hard to argue that we aren't rebuilding (even though the FO won't use the word).

        of course he is.. lol.

Windy did predict 5 wins and said it was due to having unproven players and youth at skill positions but let’s not focus on that, lol.

This team should have won 14 games with all the talent they had.

How did we not have "a real shot in the last decade" when we were in the AFC championship game in 2016?

Well, we have the most-expensive D in the NFL; does that sound like a re-build? We have 3 of some of the highest paid defenders at their positions. Shades always has needed excessive talent on D to form a decent D. Pgh has "sold out" on d players (#1 highest paid D in the NFL) but went el cheapo on units like the OL (paid cheaper than any other OL in the NFL). How did that "plan" work out for them? Oh, another year with zero playoff wins. Keep being cheap on the OL, Cool Shades, great plan.

Another year with no playoff wins? You had us in the playoffs this year?

You predicted 6 or 7 wins so make up your mind on what your expectations were for this year.

You should be happy we beat your prediction by 2 games.

Almost no one gave the Denver Broncos a chance to beat the New England Patriots in Sunday's AFC Championship Game, but Peyton Manning and a furious defense pulled off the improbable against Tom Brady's squad.

                Really?

That counts, I guess, but NE mercy ruled us, could have won by 50.

exactly.. seems a bit dishonest to try that angle when we were in the AFCCG the next year.

Jan. 22, 2017 New England Patriots Pittsburgh Steelers 36-17 - it didn't look like we had much a chance in that game, did it? Another Cool Shades play off blow out loss. Just 4 points away from his D giving up 40+ which is how his D's have faired the last THREE playoff games.

Yes, we're retooling. Rebuild means trading expensive older stars for picks. Rebuild means not signing a former 2nd pick overall QB to play instead of the rookie. Rebuild means firing bad assistants, not standing pat.

Didn't I predict 7-10? Regardless, that changes as the season plays out - I was also the only one who called a late season resurgence based on schedule, when some of the presumed more difficult games actually turned into easier ones.

And that's what happened - we barely beat a bunch of bad teams.

I think you are describing a "bottoming out" or "tanking" style rebuild.

But I think any time you lose a HoF QB in the NFL, you are also rebuilding.

Or maybe if you prefer, we are "rebuilding the offense". Which is why it's so cheap because everyone is so young.

I don't disagree re: Canada. But we don't seem to like paying coaches to not coach.

We did do better than you expected though, right?

                                By 2 games.

That's pretty significant in the NFL I think.

Some might argue that finishing two games better than you thought would be cause for optimism for the future. Seems like we're ahead of the schedule you were setting with our "retooling". Right?
