It did, he ended up not being there for what they signed him for: pressure in the post-season. Didn't really need him in regular season.

Yeah, no. PFF is smart enough not to grade the OL well for a RBs broken tackles behind the LOS.

Or their opponents took substantial drops in quality over the season - all tomato cans last 6 games: Colts, Falcons, Balt (missing QB starter), Panthers, LV, Balt (still missing QB starter), Browns. That's like the who's who of tomato cans.

They would be the only ones with the Steelers at #10 since I haven't seen that anywhere else.

    • Losses: 120% value
    • 0-4 Yards: 100% value
    • 5-10 Yards: 50% value
    • 11+ Yards: 0% value

These numbers are then adjusted based on down, distance, situation, opponent, and the difference in rushing average between shotgun compared to standard formations. Finally, we normalize the numbers so that the league average for Adjusted Line Yards per carry is the same as the league average for RB yards per carry

    • 0-4 yards: 100% strength
    • 5-10 yards: 50% strength
    • 11+ yards: not included
    • runs for a loss: 120% strength

Each play is also adjusted based on game situation as well as quality of opponents faced. Adjusted Line Yards can be listed as total or broken down by direction to attempt to isolate ability of specific linemen

I'm more of a fan of the raw numbers like pressure rate, sack conversion rate, and yards before contact. All are available on PFF.

I find that hard to believe, they improved against tomato cans and lept to 10th?

Also, are the grades contextual, or do they just grade on results? e.g. If the line all miss blocks the the RB breaks tackles and runs 80 yards, do they still grade well?
