All methods of analysis have short comings. Looking at results from multiple methods probably gives the best answer.

If WR 1 scores from 70 on a screen, and WR 2 falls down after 10 yards, QB 1 and QB 2 should not be graded differently for something that was completely out of their control.

Just can't break it down any simpler, and I already know your reply.

      "But passer rating!!!"
I dont give a damn about either and I’ve told you repeatedly. Have you ever seen me seriously argue over passer ratings?

If a Steeler scores a TD on a 70 yard screen pass I’m happy because its a TD.

I don’t run to PFF or passer ratings to tell me how good of a play it was or who should get the credit. I have eyes.. lol.

Good short pass to the player = yay QB!
Long run by WR or RB= yay player!
      TD scored = yay team!

While you guys are checking for stat results I’m screaming “lets go defense”

Then why are you so bent about Mahomes not being the top rated PFF passer simply because he had the best stats?

QBR and passer ratings have shortcomings and should be glanced over. The top rating is EPA because it gives the most complete picture, but one can also look at ANY/A, PFF, and other rankings for a broader perspective.
