After watching the OL these first 2 preseason games, I'm thinking they'd better keep all 3 QBs. Heck, they might want to add another one, because they'll probably all be down w/injuries before the season is over.

          POTENTIAL TRADE CANDIDATES

          Mason Rudolph
          Pittsburgh Steelers · QB

If Nick Mullens can be traded, then Rudolph certainly can. I'm not at all certain that a deal will come together, and he’s played well this August. Yet, Mitchell Trubisky and Kenny Pickett represent the present and future, respectively, at QB in Pittsburgh.

Pickett’s strong play of late could compel the Steelers to go with two QBs on the 53-man roster to start the season, with seventh-round pick Chris Oladokun a candidate to join the practice squad after being released this week. Trading Rudolph would free up a roster spot and allow Pittsburgh to potentially recoup something of value in return for him now as opposed to hoping he’ll factor into the compensatory-pick formula for 2024.

The biggest question: Do the Steelers want to trade him?

NFL teams must get down to a 53-man roster by Tuesday, August 30. With that deadline fast approaching, Eric Edholm spotlights notable players who could be traded or cut, including a trio of quarterbacks.

Mitch is a much more likely trade candidate... Pittsburgh can get more for him... He wants to start somewhere.... And Mason's a bitchin' back-up...

Lions I hear may be in the back up qb market n have some interest in MR. Perhaps a bit of a showcase game. I would have to believe a 5th rounder offered n he's gone.

Imagining that the OL is as bad as last season is such a lazy out... Making judgements when Najee Harris hasn't seen the field is more than premature, it has no semblance to reality... If you actually are serious about your OL analysis, you would know that the average time from snap to throw on passing downs has increased significantly...

With future up in the air, Mason Rudolph not looking beyond Steelers' preseason finale

                  JOE RUTTER | Thursday, Aug. 25, 2022

When the Pittsburgh Steelers face the Detroit Lions on Sunday, they will conclude not just their preseason but the exhibition schedule for the entire NFL. The 4:30 p.m. nationally televised kickoff makes the Steelers-Lions matchup the final one of the weekend and one of only two that will be held

No, didn't you hear? They hid Oladokun from playing any PS games because he is secretly so good they didn't want any exposure to him to other teams so they won't pilfer this great, secret talent from Pgh. Not only wasn't Oladokun a waste of a draft pick, he is so awesome that the Steelers have kept him a secret. Once he is put on the PS, they can tap him and his incredible skills when one of the remaining QBs go down.

Steelers' QB Mason Rudolph is drawing trade interest around the league.

“Sounds like the Pittsburgh Steelers would listen at the right price."

Minimum price should be a serviceable vet OL followed in order of need by a serviceable OLB. If not, keep MR. The Steelers current OL will get someone hurt, minimum, or blow winnable games. I'm not exactly Joel- or DeVille-level Xs/Os but gimme a damn break

I hear the Steelers would listen to trade offers for Trubisky "at the right price..." too....
Josh Carney is seeing the Backup QB spot as the same as QB1... It's not... QB1 is different from QB2 like LT is different from RT. Sure a lineman can switch sides, but the positions are played differently... on the line, it's a matter of stoichiometry... inside is outside, left is right. Likewise there are QB1-type things a QB2 is expected to do, but it's a whole different position...

wonder if the Panthers might call the Steelers about Mason Rudolph now?

they have now lost two QBs this preseason and that leaves just P.J. Walker behind Baker Mayfield...
