My early camp thoughts.
QB Rudolph, yes Rudloph is the best out there at least for now, and this is utterly disapointing because we gave 3x his money to Trubisky and spent our first round pick on Pickett. Rudolph is a free agent next year.
Trubisky has disapointed so far. Pickett is playing like a rookie QB who has limited game experience like Trey Lance so I can't excuse him and his multiple interceptions, in-accuracy, and overall play because he is " in-experience " on in college. Reports say ( if you believe them ) that he was the most NFL ready in the QB class. That doesn't appear to be the case and he's not playing well vs the 3rd stringers, which brings me back to Rudolph, who played reasonably well for a rookie in his 1st NFL camp...if you can remember. I'm not saying he's a bust. But so far I trust my own eyes that his arm is a little weak by the standard of NFL QB's and he was a one year wonder despite playing 40+ games vs weak competition. I'm judging him on his starting point, and I'm disappointed.
Wide Receivers.
Pickens. Wow. Are you seeing those highlight catches and not the check down variety vs the #1 defense? Are you seeing his speed? His vice like hands? His moves, and his size? He has a lot to learn in terms of routes, but this isn't a weekly type of event it's turning into a daily type of event. I am impressed. You've heard the term 50/50 balls? Well, with Pickens they are more like 60/40 catches.
Austin III has shown good hand and moves. He's a keeper. Very quick and ultra-fast.
I have heard much from Claypool. Johnson is basically sitting from palying and if he's traded for a 2nd round pick, which I hope he is, I'm totally fine with that because I think Pickens has better star potential, and Austin is a real keeper. Gunner has made plays, but his real value is on special teams.
I may do the other position later. Don't shoot or congratulate the messenger!
