So, he has to have the characteristics of the best QB to ever play the game, 2 certain 1st ballot HOFers and a very good quarterback before he can have a high ceiling? Why does Pickett have to be so great to have a high ceiling? What does Willis need to have a high ceiling? Just be a great athlete? I don't quite understand why Pickett's standards for a high ceiling are so high (and unattainable, how good would he be with all of that?) but Willis just needs to be an extraordinary athlete and his ceiling is high.

Yes on the arm. No one the pick even though he was the first QB off the board, he was also the only QB taken to round three! Speculation is we could have had him in round two. And next year the 3rd QB taken will be view more favorably than he is. It was a weak QB class. Yeah this year we had the pick of the litter but it wasn't a very good litter. We took out shot. Yep. I'm mixed and wanted Lloyd in round one and Corral in round three.

Pickett in Rd 2 or 3 is pure speculation. And if you ask the mocking world, he wasn't going to last to the end of Rd 1....

last year we were the first team to pick a RB and then there was a run on RB’s.

I’m sure if there was a gap after we picked Najee they would say he would’ve been available in the 2nd.

The most common refrain I've heard re: the draft was that Carolina was going to take Pickett, but they couldn't believe that they could have the best OT on the board.

Might Pickett have been around for us in the 2nd? Who knows.

But if we really believed that he can be a franchise QB, I think it would have been foolish to cross our fingers and wait. If you think the QB of the future is there you pick him. You even trade up for him (which we tried to do).
