    Tomlin PC

Well, it sounds as though he's gonna be bringing back Matt Canada. Smh. He used words like 'optimistic and liked what he was doing' in his PC regarding Canada. He also hinted that Butler will be retiring. So there's the big change. New DC.

And knowing tomlin, he promote from within. Big needs are ILB situation and NT. Didn't have much good to say about Schoebert either.

Sounds like he wants competition at the QB spot. I bet he brings in someone like Marcus Mariota to compete. He says mobility at the QB spot is essential.

I was sort of hoping that maybe he'd fire Canada, and bring in someone from the outside for interviews. Like the QB coach Luke Getsy (who is a local guy) from Green Bay for example.

**Maybe the big man Rooney will say otherwise on the OC. The local radio station is saying this is a disaster. LOL... It is what it is, or the standard is the standard. With Colbert probably retiring, Tomlin will have more power than ever before.

Wow, the consensus here is Canada sucks and should have been fired mid season. Tomlin thinks he is great.
    Now what?
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

Local radio is saying that Tomlin sounds like he's becoming the centrist figure in this organization. King Tomlin. No one is gonna be around to have a 2nd thought- like a 2nd set of eyes to see whats going on. Except Rooney.

This has always been a concern for me with regards to Macbeth (er I mean Tomlin). it is very rare in the NFL when there is 1 guy in charge of

        Talent selection
        Head Coach
        Defensive or Offensive scheming

You rarely end up being a successful franchise...as it is very hard for that individual to see their flaws (human nature).
btw I don't blame Mike Tomlin for this...we all tend to think we are super excellent aweome-o and if I had the reins things would be different.

If he fails, it's on the myopic leadership at the top. The Rooneys

On Tuesday, head coach Mike Tomlin was asked at his press conference whether he has any issues with the job Canada is doing with play calling.

Tomlin said he didn’t before adding that the job is still a new one for Canada despite his experience running offenses at the collegiate level.

“I have no reservations about the play calling component of his job and what he’s done,” Tomlin said. “But I will also acknowledge there’s probably a learning curve at every job that pertains to the National Football League.”

"I'm optimistic about Matt [Canada] and what's capable of doing," Tomlin said during his end of the year press conference. "I'll acknowledge that we took a step back. There's obvious tangles reasons why that occurred, so I'm not going to get into all of that. I'm not going to seek comfort in that. We got to be better. We intend to be, and that's going to require a lot of planning and work; players and coaches."

Anyone who doesn't see him running the program unchecked as being an issue, then honestly, maybe you're a fan of the coach more than the franchise as a whole.

His ego needs to be deflated, not inflated even more than it already is.

What kind of GM will they hire who would be willing to come in after free agency and the draft?

A lackey they promote from within, that's who.

I'm past tired of Tomlin's BS talk. What in hell does he see in Canada's playcalling that makes him optimistic going forward with him? Name one thing, I sure as hell can't. And if it's true that Canada was involved in recruiting Tomlin's kid to Maryland that's really concerning. If Tomlin is given more control over the team based on recent hirings this is a disaster in the making imo.

                    what if its…

                    Tomlin!

There are HC’s that are also GM’s. What if Tomlin is like “my team, my way” after having Colbert all these years and maybe having to hold onto Ben longer than he wanted?

                    Just wondering out loud

Newsflash, no team with a good GM is gonna let them interview for a lateral to the Steelers. Oh. Would you prefer they hire a GM that was just fired from a loser team because "they are outside the org"?

That makes no sense. I seriously doubt Tomlin hired Canada because his kid was at Maryland.

Seems like most college teams would take Tomlin’s kid simply for recruiting purposes.

More than likely it was seeing Canada put up crazy stats while he was with PITT and working in the same facility.

Thought that was BA but who knows..

but I doubt we will ever see Tomlin say a current OC is trash and fired immediately in a season ending presser.

I would be beyond extremely disappointed if Canada is back. Just thinking of seeing this offense again makes my blood boil.
