Yes, there is a difference, but both acts are still clownish.

“kiss my ass, I just won”

haha.. I’m glad that is what you saw. 4 days later and you are still mad we won.

Its hilarious because I actually do believe these guys think that kiss was directed at them.

is this really a thread about comparing what someone who coached in the year 2021 vs what someone did in the 1960s/70s?

Next topic, let's talk about how some players had to sleep in different quarters and come in through the back door.

That's not the only time Tomlin has mugged for the camera before, during or after a game.

WTF difference does it make? You're coaching, the camera comes right to your face for a reaction. It's awkward at that point. And no matter what his reaction was, this thread would exist to criticize that reaction. PERIOD

It's actually so tiresome, it's like the boy who cried wolf at this point.

This is where the obvious comes into play.

We have those who hate his sunglasses, his eyes, his gestures.. lol.

I try not to go there, but sometimes it's just too obvious, even if they aren't honest with themselves.

It's acceptable because there is nothing wrong with mugging for the camera in the manner that Tomlin did, whether or not any other coach, good or bad, past or present, similarly mugged. Furthermore, you have absolutely no idea whether or not any of the coaches you listed actually engaged in an act of muggery or not.

It's unlikely you will understand this, but your post is an example of the syllogistic fallacy of affirmative conclusion from negative premises. Spelled out:

(Unproven) Negative premise: No muggers are good coaches.
Negative premise: No good coaches are bad coaches.
Your Affirmative conclusion: Therefore, all muggers are bad coaches.

That's the kind of stuff that made Socrates bash his students over the head with those rock tablets they used for writing back then. The only thing that can be inferred from your unproven premise is that some coaches that are not muggers are not bad coaches.

What are you so worked up about? He's a chest-thumping showboat, and many of his players are a direct reflection of that. Nothing necessarily wrong with it, except they're also a reflection of his lack of preparation, lack of discipline, lack of being on the details, etc.

There's no wonder players say they love playing for Tomlin, he's like the substitute teacher who lets you watch TV in class.

Everyone knows that only players on the Steelers showboat, because Mike Tomlin invented showboating.
