i'm trying to remember the actual number, it was 8 of 11 or 9 of 12, previous 1st and 2nd rounders were used on the defensive side of the ball

Sorry, that's just false. There's no way to ELIMINATE the risk, but there are ways to limit it. I know how they could have limited Diontae's chance of injury in the Raiders game, for example.

Also, in the blowout win of Miami in the playoffs, a banged up Bell was getting slammed to the ground late in a game that was already decided, and tapped out for good in the AFCC a couple weeks later when he could take no more.

Do you think the only way to save tread on your tires is to never drive at all?

Bell ran for 170 yards the next week vs KC.

DJ’s injury was unfortunate but it still a random event. No one else was injured on that last play either. Hindsight is 20/20.

When someone is injured today will it because we didn’t limit their chances for injury?

There is no way of knowing what play will result in injury and there is no one to blame when it happens.

You understand the concept here, right?

Everyone agrees that injuries are random (or at least partially random).

But that means that there is some chance of them happening.

In roulette, there are 38 spaces (18/18/2). It's unlikely that you'll land on "00" in any given spin. But if you spin 400 times (about how many times Najee will touch the ball this year), then you'd expect to land on "00" multiple times.

Something that is unlikely to happen in a single occurrence, becomes more like the more times you do it.

the chances of landing on 00 is the same on any spin. So I say play the game until
it happens because the goal is to win more than you lose.

and lets look at Arizona. Chase Edmunds and Conner split carries. Both have been hurt. Team’s can’t limit a players risk to injury.

At the rate he’s carrying the ball; what does Najee look like at the end of year 4 of his current contact?

Something crazy about Harris, I don't think he's had 1 fumble this season and when he played at Alabama he only had 1 fumble his entire time at Alabama.

                    Najee is just getting started.

Its going to be fun watching Najee stiff arm DB’s into next week once he gets to the second level.

                      Rashard Mendenhall.

Mendenhall is no comparison to Najee Harris.

Najee is a superb athlete with an incredible work ethic. Works hard every day to stay in top shape since high school.
His work reminds me a lot of Adrian Peterson, who maintained a work load very comparable to Najee this year.

AP in his 9th year with the Vikings: 1,485 Rushing yards, 1707 Total Yards, First-team All Pro.

Hopefully Najee has the same type of career. It’s possible.

The question wasn't who does he compare to, the question was what will he look like after 4 years of heavy workloads and beatings like he has taken this season. In no way would I look at Najee right now and think he reminds me of Mendenhall.

When you watch Najee run how many times does it look like he gets the worst of the collision during a tackle? It never does. The gentleman earlier mentioned he doesn't have a fumble. Almost 400 touches and no fumbles.
During the Browns game I think Riddick(?) Said Najee has the most YAC of any RB. After the Ravens game he will have 400 touches and no fumbles. When was that ever done?
People this kid is physically gifted like no other RB we have ever had. Can he get hurt from a knee hit, yes but his work ethic allows him to deliver the force.
Like the gentleman earlier stated about Newton's 3rd law. Najee's force is greater then the tackler's so the result is he's going forward.

People enjoy this young man he may be our meal ticket for the next 5 years until we get a QB.

So, your answer to the question of what Najee will look like after 4 years of this workload was Rashard Mendenhall.
I disagree 100% and think he’ll look a lot more like AP than Mendenhall, who was basically DONE after 4 years. Matter of opinions.

It also looks like Najee dishes out more beatings than he takes.

How did Najee look in his 16th game after all these touches?

No way he looks like Mendenhall after 4 years. I think he will look like Bettis.. still running over and around people and stiff arming defenders left and right.

Mendenhall? Nah.. he is going to look like Derrick Henry. Inflicting pain and wearing down defenses.
