Just pray for no LB injuries. We are thin once again at a critical position.
This. If Watt or Highsmith gets hurt, we're in trouble. And chances of that happening are pretty good.

And only a 6th? We got ripped off.

Taco does have a better pedigree. And maybe he’s another guy that we bring back from dead once he lands in Pittsburgh.

And Tacos taste way better than Ingrams any way.

According to multiple sources only suitor for Ingram was KC. Not sure what options they had at this point...would you have kept him?

I hear it's how you marinate them that counts...

and anything goes well with Chianti and Fava Beans...

He was a one year rental that we returned to the lot a half season early..... he's not a difference maker at age 32. Plus there were murmurs the guy wears down quickly.

I agree that he should have seen that he wasn't going to play much.

Was hoping that we'd get at least a 5th.

Hopefully the Chiefs keep losing games so that their 6th is at least not at the end of the round.
It’s a slot 6th round pick so it’s at the end of the round regardless.

Steelers might not be done making moves before today's trade deadline, per team source.

                  Eric Ebron anyone?

I hear we may be buying not selling.

But he was a good depth piece ... and now, our depth looks pretty iffy at the position.

Ingram is a better rusher than Highsmith we should have played him more. Don't mind trading him but NOT to the Chiefs. Why give Mahomes & Chiefs a player at their weakest position?

So why is James Washington on the team? He asked for a trade quietly just like Ingram.

I think we can't know the answer to this without knowing the interpersonal stuff.

Just from an asset management perspective, I think Ingram for the remainder of the season is probably more valuable than the mid-6th we'd expect to get at this point.

But we don't know his personal situation and so we can't have much of an idea about whether or not he'd James Harrison his way through the rest of the season. Standing our ground didn't work well in that situation.

And since we don't sit in on negotiations for these mid to low level UFAs, I don't think we know if these "we want volunteers not hostages" type decisions help make deals for guys like Ingram happen. "Look, we'll take you at this lower price...and if you aren't happy with how your usage at the trade deadline we've done our best in past to help guys that feel like they don't fit move".

But I was hoping to get at least a 5th.

So I realize this could be just a perception flaw from where I stand. It just seems that the Steelers have this dilemma creep up with them over the past 1/2 dozen years or so, where they have a disgruntled individual that felt they were going to get more playing time.

                              I don't know if it's a fair statement...just a feeling.

                              James Harrison agrees with you.

NorthCoast put up a graphic in another thread showing pass rush win% on one access and run stop win% on the other .

TJ was amazing at both. Best guy on the chart.

Ingram and Highsmith weren't on the chart so someone asked the author. Here's the response:

I think this shows that your comment "Ingram is a better rusher than Highsmith" is incorrect. At least based on how they've played this year.
