It’s very clear to anyone who’s willing to be objective that Connor was not used up and on the decline like some tried to say when he left.

The Cardinals have proven that if he has a decent line and quarterbacking, he is still a very good running back.

What was wrong with Connor ( in Pittsburgh) was the team around him.

maybe he asked the Steeler staff to help him review film and was told "he'll get it"

        very few people said that.

the vast majority liked Conner, unfortunately he was just inujry-prone.

sometimes a change of scenery is what's needed, and Conner is benefitting from that and has remained healthy so far.

Also helps when you’re not in a grey sweatsuit injured and inactive on the sidelines. He’s healthy for the first time in a few seasons.

Availability is the most important ability in football. But he’s magically been able to stay healthy this season all of a sudden. Hmmmmm.

              nothing magical about it.

Conner is not being asked to be the workhorse back week in and week out, averaging less than 13 carries per game. Hmmmmm.

                Yeah right.
Conners lead the CONFERENCE in rush TDs in 2018.
By game 8 of the 2018 season Conner bested this seasons numbers in EVERY category…including touchdowns.
Conners had 9 touchdowns by week eight in 2018, he has 8 right now.

Dude averages 3.8 YPC as opposed to 4.6 as of game 8 that season.

By any conceivable measure JC was a more productive back as a STEELER that season than he has shown as a Cardinal this season.

I do think that the part time role he currently has is better for this brittle body.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

I hear what your saying but the spyriness in his step today has him passing the eye ball test of rejuvenation. This is only week 9 but 173 total yards and 3 TD’s says a lot to me. And anyone else who actually watched the game.

Doesn’t look washed up to me.

you just make stuff up, very few people said Conner was washed up.

most were simply frustrated that he couldn't stay healthy over the course of a full season.

He was not washed up with us.
Injuries, aging oline, no mid to deep passing threat to keep teams honest made it hard here.

I do think the lesser load helps.

In another thread, Felt and others are making the case that the number of touches has nothing to do with the chances of getting injured.

                            put the damn numbers away.

It was said, and not just by me, in his last couple of years here he was hesitant to hit the hold. at his size, you shouldn't be hesitant to hit an opening.
I remarked on some runs I've seen him have over the last couple of weeks.

he is not hesitating after receiving the handoff. even making himself "small" to fit thru a small hole between 2 offensive tackles (TD last week)
why do you think that is??

PS. why the heck are you talking about 2018? i'm talking about this year compared to last year

and you claim i skew the numbers for the sake of argument. geezzz man

I guess the counter argument would be something like, there weren't any holes to hit. It's not like other RBs were successful behind that line.

We held the band together too long.
