And averaging 45 yds/gm.... not exactly tearing it up. He's strictly a role player on 3rd and short. He is doing it well though, converting about 70%.

He's playing and being used exactly how he should have been all along; only in Pgh did they try to fit the square peg in a round hole. Conner is doing more than fine is his appropriate role: short yardage, goal line back. He should have never been used as a primary rb. But the brain trust in Pgh couldn't see that.

The year Conner became a starter for this team was the year the Steelers expected Bell to report. They had a lot of money tied up into Bell that year. Conner came out and produced like a starter in Bell's absence. The brain trust in Pgh saw what Conner could do as a primary back. Go look up Conner's statistics that year.

You have a bad memory or is it something else? At least attempt to look at the reasons why the Steelers brought Conner back on the cheap after the Bell saga.

Being used as something more than that today ... already added 2 more TDs in the 1st Qtr vs. the Niners. Just tied D. Henry for the league lead in rushing TDs. Not an insignificant feat, IMO. At this pace, could hit close to 20 on the season.

Always seemed like a good person, just couldn't stay healthy.

It worked out well for both parties. Conner found new life in Arizona and Pittsburgh found their back for the foreseeable future.

he's showing less indecision when getting the ball

obviously showing how better coaching works

so you think the Cardinals have a better RB coach than the Steelers do?

Life is easier when you face the 26th ranked rushing defense.

Talk about crying in your beer. This thread and the one on Bell are stupid. They don't play for us anymore. Move on people.

looks like a different player with AZ.

RB coach / Head coach / OC likely all contributed

James Conner played well in Pittsburgh, he averaged 4.5 yards one year and almost reach 1,000 yard and overall averaged 4.3. There are a few people on this board who decided to direct negativity and lies toward him. I think it was because they thought they were protecting a beloved star in Le'Veon Bell.

But his average per carry is right less in Arizona than it was in Pittsburgh, So he really doesn't look that different. He is a good back but he tends to get injured so he is in better situation where he can share carries.

Conner was a good player for the Steelers. The Steelers and Conner decided to part ways for whatever reasons?

The Steelers probably knew they would be drafting a young stater caliber RB in the draft. How would Conner take to being "demoted"?

Some times it's best for teams and players to part ways for different reasons. That being said, Conner could easily end up in Pittsburgh next year. The Steelers brought former Steelers back in the past.

LMAO at implying someone lied on Conners honor and then immediately listing his “negatives” in the second paragraph.

Conner the league TD leader, for now.

To be clear, I'm not crying that he's gone, nor am I saying that Najee isn't the better option ... just pointing out the difference coaching/system/play-calling/usage can make. Last year, some of y'all were saying that Conner is washed up, but he doesn't look too spent to me.
