No one was in Ben’s face on these 4th down passes. I don’t think he was even touched on these plays.Steelers 27

Since we're doing basket ball analogies.
We're a team that sucks at long 2s.
We aren't good at 3s either, but our 3pt% is actually better than our 2pt%.
When you want more points in that case, the answer isn't "shoot more long 2s".Comment

This could be true.. could also be a few audibles at the LOS.
I have no problem giving Canada some blame in all of this.
I don’t think its 80%.. more like 50/50. I know some fans don’t want to blame Ben but we are watching Ben throw the ball with no success on 4th down.
I could see if Najee was the only
one running a route but there are other options past the sticks and Ben isn’t even entertaining them on these 4th down plays.
Our WR's are also not great. JuJu is no number 1, which he was supposed to be after AB left us. time to move on from him and draft a real #1 WR next year.
Collectively, its the entire offense at fault, but I honestly believe most of the blame should be given to Canada. What are the options as far as moving on from him? None at this point, so, my thoughts are that we continue doing what they are doing now- running more to get this OL some time to gel, maybe activate Dobbs and bring him in on certain situations where we need another option with a running QB. Just my 2 cents.Last edited by pfelix73; 10-04-2021, 05:31 PM.6- Time Super Bowl Champions......

I guess this is how it is going to go. And most people seem OK with that. Let Ben go out and play and have a good time, Even though he is playing poorly, we kind of owe it to him to let the season go down the drain, before we pull the plug on his season. I am personally not OK with that. I want them to try to win and not worry about Ben's emotions. He's had a great career and made a stack of money that won't dry up. Endings are never easy. but they should make a change before all is lost, IMO.
I believe they need to find out if Mason can be the short or long term answer at QB. I think the organization will have a clearer sense of the direction of it's future once they reach a decision at the QB position.Comment

I think the second one might be, but it would be easier if the O wasn't having the same problems it had during the implosion last year.
I think what we can say about Canada is the same as what we can say about Ben. Who knows what the biggest problem is...so far, neither of these guys has found the solution.Comment

Ben is just old. That’s all. It happens to all of them.
We need to hold management more accountable for this then anyone.
As Northcoast said,” it’s better to get rid of a guy one year early instead of one year too late. “Comment

I could see if we were winning using your strategy but the 3’s aren’t enough.
Gotta drive to the basket and draw some fouls aka run some people over. Defenses get tired of tackling guys like Najee as the game get into the 4th quarter.Steelers 27

if we aspire higher than that, then MR definitely isn't our answer.Comment

The answer is staying with Big Ben, lowest QBR in the NFL, outside of rookie QBs with 4 games under their belt. That will certainly take them far.Comment

I don't think Ben is out there having a good time taking a beating and on top of it losing games.

These are all fair points but you’re saying he’s doesn’t care in your original post. That goes way beyond his physical limitations. I seriously doubt he’s “given up and lost his desire”.
This team has a laundry list of problems. Ben’s desire is at the bottom of the list.Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.
Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.
*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***Comment

If you honestly watch you would see that the rushers on maybe 1/2 of the rushes are on Ben as soon as he gets to his drop. He probably has a pocket one out of 5 dropbacks. He's throwing some bad passes but I don't think he has had blocking this bad in his whole career. This is a bad scenario. I don't know how much more of this Ben will take. I could see him taking over the play calling on the field and telling the OC to pound sand up his a##. You know there appears to be an attitude problem with the offense. I don't know, it can't go on like this.Comment
