I think waning moments means last few seconds before the play clock expires.

If it was your theory than it would mean Ben has the time early in the game but not late in the game to change plays which makes no sense.

I seriously doubt we are handcuffing a vet like Ben but I can see them trying to limit the amount of plays due to how young the offense is..

I think I remember someone posting an article about Ben once having 100 plays to choose from and pooing at only having 20 plays to pull from on the fly.

Who the hell remembers 100 plays? I seriously doubt these young rookies can remember that many audibles.

I listened to Tomlin's presser. His answer to the question wasn't very direct (as usual). He also said they have certain plays called for those circumstances and Roethlisberger has limited opportunities to change 'during these very fluid moments'.

I don't have a problem with this early in the season. Canada has to cut his teeth at some point. Now it could also be the case where Roethlisberger is taking it to the extreme by running what's called even though he has some latitude based on pre-snap looks.

Here's Alex K's breakdown of the failed 4th down play to Juju.

Check out at ~ 3:45 where they talk about the motion man vs zone and play clock.

The list of problems are long indeed. But ben being the qb deserves some of the blame. If we lose to Denver hello 1-4, were are done and so is Ben.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

                  that’s awful.. lol.

Seriously though, its football.. the threat of getting hit is part of the game. I think once you start flinching like that its time to retire.

Slightly different but still relevant, if you watch the NBA there is a guy named Ben Simmons. Dude lost all confidence in his shot and only attempted 3 shots in the 4th quarter of a 7 game series. He was under the basket with no one around him and refused to shoot the ball.

When your team can’t depend on you in crunch time, its time to move on.

If he is truly afraid of being hit we need to put him on IR.
