Pay the man. The Steelers are being cheap..
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

that's because the Rooneys don't care about winning anymore, they're all about the money.

The Steelers most always spend to the cap correct? How can they be cheap? I'm on the outside looking in and you guys are kidding right?
The Steelers have a way of doing business and Watt has to fit into the way the Steelers do it. I have adjusted to the 25M per possibilty. Watt knows how the Steelers operate. If he wants something like to much guaranteed $ than he just wants to move on. Let's wait and see.

A few dates that notable Steelers players signed extensions:

Decastro: September 8, 2016, 4 days before the opener.

Tuitt: September 9, 2017, 1 day before the opener.

Heyward: September 6, 2020, 8 days before the opener.

Polamalu: September 10, 2011, signed his extension at the airport just before flying to Baltimore, 1 day before the opener.

Still plenty of time left to get a deal done based on recent history.

It makes sense for both sides to take it to the wire if there are things they are still negotiating about.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler suggests Steelers holdout T.J. Watt "feels in doubt" for Week 1 against the Bills.
Watt was at every training camp practice for Pittsburgh but worked only in individual drills during his "hold-in" over the past five weeks. Absent a new deal immediately, Watt will have gone through the entire summer without a single rep with the defensive unit, putting his availability for the regular-season opener in doubt. The Steelers have an unwritten rule in place to forego extensions once the season begins, so Saturday becomes a crucial day to monitor for Watt's outlook.
