In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Then that would be a terrible reason to resign because Roethlisberger has been anything but a HOF QB during the playoffs the last 5 yrs. Like others, I am most interested in how he coaches a team without a franchise QB. We got a hint in 2019 and it wasn't crash and burn some might have hoped for.

I’m sure you believe you are doing good work but the reality is you look a bit foolish with your fake happiness and Don Shula tidbits.. lol.

No. The reality is that you make up stuff as you go. Because you actually think someone cares about what you think. And I don't. Tomlin is going to be here longer to even show more proof of what I"ve been saying for years. If he left now, it would be debatable at best. After these next 3 years of flopping (15 in total) leaves little doubt about what I've been saying for years.

            Three more years!!!

As I said in my previous post: Andy Reid was 2 / 7 in the playoffs before going to the SB in the next 2 years.
Do you think KC is happy that they didn't fire him at that point?

But you know what? He was consistently competitive in that time. Constantly competing for and getting into the playoffs.

The difference between 2 / 7 and then going to the SB 2x in a row? A very good QB on a rookie contract.

It's also worth noting that Reid had pretty good QB play before that with Alex Smith.

Are we likely to get the next Mahomes? No.

Is HC more important than QB play in playoff success? Also no.

And if he happens to be successful in those years, you'll just move the goal posts again. Maybe Colbert's players this time...or whoever the next GM ends up being. Or maybe the success would be attributed to Matt Canada.

Because you've already dug in on your position and we simply can't use facts to combat your feelings (a very common issue with people these days).

This is where Ben Shapiro get's it wrong IMO. It's not "Facts don't care about your feelings". It's more like "Your feelings don't care about facts". Or as Johnathan Haidt might say: "It's the elephant that's in control, not the rider".

There’s a huge difference between which direction one coach is headed and which direction the other is.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

If that's true, it's only visible in hindsight.

Nope. They'll be no goal post moving because I've never moved the goal post before. As the years have gone along, you've been one of the main goal post movers because Tomlin has proven you wrong for all the years since we'v had this discussion.

I've given you the numbers and the amount of years but you make up scenerios ( like the Reid thing) when you know Andy Reid didn't start out with a HOF QB like Tomlin did.

It's amazing how you just disqualify a decades worth of futility (with stacked teams) because of your likes. There's nothing personal about it with me. Tomlin's a nice guy but he can't win the playoffs when X's & O's matter more. He's not that guy.

There's no "dug in" with me. Read the sig. The stuff you submit as 'facts" are spin; using other organizations ineptness to qualify what Tomlin does is sad to say the least.

YOUV"E dug in and no facts can change you but at the end of every year, your right here debating the same thing you debated the last 10 years...trying to justify it. THAT's a very common issue with people nowadays.

*** Tomlin is here and I hope he gets an additional 5 years behind the 3 he just got. Then, when it's an even 20 years of failure, you can sound even more rediculous in your support. What we do in the post season is what has defined this organazation over the years. Not 10 win regular seasons.

What year did you say Tomlin would be fired?

Can you at least admit you were wrong about that?

I think I've been pretty good about admitting when I've been wrong about things.

I admitted that. I admitted that to Feltdizz. There's no problem in admitting if I'm wrong. I think some people ( not particularly you Northern_Blitz) have a problem about admitting when your wrong. I know Ruthlinsberger did for a fact.

Rooney Jr isn't as committed to winning championships like his Dad. He's happy with Tomlin and 8-10 win seasons. That's enough for him as long as gear is being bought and tickets are being sold.

i'd bet most of the locker room is happy ben is back for another year. especially if they were asked about it by local media and went "on record" like they did here with tomlin's extension

so with your logic above, that was clearly the right move by the steelers Front office. correct?

you say the Dolphins hung on to Don Shula too long.

you undoubtedly would have gotten rid of Bill Cowher before he had the chance to finally win his Super Bowl.
