Me neither. I remembered watching McFarland in college and going oh wow that's a really good running back. Reports out of camp is that he is having a monster camp. I can see him doing slot work, and work out of two back sets. Canada loves him a good Jet sweep after he sends a million guys in motion lol. I can see McFarland being used much on jet sweeps and in the passing game.
    Trolls are people too.

I too saw those reports. I have to say that I do think not having a regular camp last year had an effect on most rookies around the league and had an early effect on the season as offenses seemed to be way ahead of defenses across the league.

McFarland is a completely different kind of back than Najee is. he's a change of pace type, not a bell cow.

do you ever think before you type?

McFarlands first year reminds me of FWP in some ways. FWP was so fast he often outran his blockers.

FWP used to have screen passes where he could’ve gained 40 yards but he would gain 5 because he would run past a blocker right into a defender.

If McFarland slows down he will have some big plays this year.

I've been through enough camp news cycles in my lifetime to know to temper both the good and bad.
I get it though. Its their job to get clicks so hyperbole abounds.

"Look out for the two back sets this season "

"You'll see more play action in this offense"

"Xxx is gonna be a beast for defenses "

But I still like the writeups because they are football and right about now I am needing it.
And the thing about this season is all the unknowns compared to most. Whether the Steelers want to admit it or not this is a full-on rebuild at least for the offense.

            Let's Go!

TO CONTINUALLY take glee in promoting another coach FOR YEARS at the expense of our own?

THAT is Fandom, and it ain't Steeler Fandom.

Even TIPROAST doesn’t brag on how much better his coach is more than you.

i was mostly just messing with you with a big reason being that I hate the ravens. I like nothing about that team

but now I think you're taking things a bit too far.
i've mentioned Belichicks number of championships showing how he's so far ahead of any other coaches (steelers coach included)

how's that any different then a number of posters on these fan boards that say Brady is the GOAT? and gleefully admitting it while putting down the QB of the steelers?

I remember a play when Troy Aikman was doing the game, and Troy broke out laughing watching McFly spaz out carrying the ball for all of 1 yard.

Probably tackled by the 20 yard line too.

Players with that type of speed tend to trip themselves up looking for the home run.

I like that he said he realizes a 4 yard run is a good run. Its like QB’s who won’t throw it in the stands or check down.

Could be really intriguing if we’re going to those two back sets. Could totally keep a defense off balance in theory. At least we know the Bills will not have any serious film on our offense coming in.

I like where you going.. basically saying a combination of maturity and an improved line will make a difference.

McFarland played well under Canada at Maryland.

it will be interesting to see if that translates to the pros.

I liked that too. That's growth and kinda what I expected. He was trying to hit home runs with his few touches.

In today's NFL, if both Najee and McFarland are who the FO thinks they are, then they are exactly the 1-2 that the team wants and they'll be happy to have gotten both guys where they did.
