a team, by league scheduling rules, who we can sometimes not face for 3 years.

versus a team that we play twice a year. a team, before moving, that was our biggest rivalry (old browns)

even you can see the difference there, right?

knowing you're a big OSU fan and seeing that you weren't so hyped up on him during the 2020 draft furthered the stamp of approval on picking claypool

I think Dobbins is a good solid back. But, he was FAR from the most talented running back I had seen in a Buckeyes uniform. He had a tremendous late senior run but had years of mediocrity. I do think he will be successful in the Ravens system but I think most backs could be. I would much rather have Claypool.

Not mad at Claypool but Dobbins would’ve been a big upgrade over Conner and company.

No we are just talking about our impressions players who happen to be on other teams. My opinions are HONEST not colored by what team I'm discussing.

Saying a player is pretty good and wondering what would happen if we took him AND DENIED THE RAVENS from drafting him ON ONE THREAD……HARDLY makes one a Raven fan.

TO CONTINUALLY take glee in promoting another coach FOR YEARS at the expense of our own?

THAT is Fandom, and it ain't Steeler Fandom.

Even TIPROAST doesn’t brag on how much better his coach is more than you.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

Sure but not over Harris. I'm glad we grabbed Claypool and now have Harris. I'm happy with the way it played out.

If that was all it was I'm on board 100 percent.

Keep in mind it would also meant that freeing up the Harris pick give us back that number one. We could have gotten TWO premium lineman rather than just Green in the third. THAT is my point.

You might still like what we did but you gotta admit that piece makes it more of a toss-up.

I think Harris is a generational back. So while I understand what you are saying. And we desperately need OL. The Steelers obviously were not enamored with the OL that was sitting there when we picked Harris. We could have picked up a back later and grabbed OL. Missing out on Dobbins didn't mean we HAD to take Harris.

Agreed... this played out well for us, especially when you consider how poorly our O-Line performed last year (run blocking).

I mean our OL situation is indeed desperate. But, bad teams are made by drafting desperately. Do you pass on a generational back in order to take an OLman you a meh about? Also, Dobbins running behind our OL in our system? He's not breaking over 4 yards a carry I assure you. I do not believe Dobbins is truly a special back. Good but not special. Keep in mind this year we could have passed on Harris, grabbed a couple OLmen and still grabbed Trey Sermon who honestly is a good as Dobbins. The Steelers have been successful for a reason. Grabbing Harris was a no brainer.

Our two year benefit will be far more than taking Dobbins last year. We have the better two players

…or if you are Bill Cowherd you push to take an average Tackle over a HoF QB who is the greatest in franchise history.

                              our OL will be fine

Maryland had a horrific OL and passing game. He was the complete focus of defenses. He's that good. Of course, he didn't show up when there were 8 and sometimes 9 in the box with an OL who couldn't block Velveeta cheese. McFarland has elite back gifts but appeared to be incredibly inpatient last year. I'm guessing he was trying to do too much with his limited touches. I think McFarland will be the #2 and I think he will show Steeler nation that is a legit threat. The only thing getting in the way of McFarland is McFarland.
