Let's extend a guy that chokes in the playoffs and doesn't know how to call a QB sneak on 4th and inches with one of the biggest QBs in the league. That's pure genius.
Tomlin: Let's unleash hell and "mop the floor" with the competition.

That's a pretty glass-half-empty kinda mentality. I get the frustration with the lack of playoff success in 10 years. But we extended a guy with one of the highest wining percentages in the league. A guy who has been to 2 super bowls. A guy the players love. Sounds pretty smart to me.

There's a lot more behind the non-QB-sneaks than Tomlin "not knowing how to call them".

could say the same about Ben..

its not like he has played his best football in the playoffs lately.

but he is still a HOFer and the FO believes he gives us the best chance to win.

April 30, 2021...despite all the bitching and moaning Mike Tomlin remains the Head Coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers...next topic!

there were plenty of people not liking the move to bring him back.
Going against what team decision was

just like there are people not liking the tomlin extension

Being that this is the off season, Tomlin backers who applaud a certified playoff loser, at least in the past ten years are saying move on. Okay, but coaching blunders will become magnified as I for one do not think Ben who has 35 4th quarter comebacks has much left in him. Yes-- 35 4th quarter comebacks! It was him and the defense doing the winning, not Tomlin's coaching.
Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

*** Mike Tomlin is the best coach since the AFL- NFL merger that has not won a playoff game in 8 seasons or more. It's either him or Lewis. ***

                  this makes no sense dude.

damn near every Tomlin detractor puts all the blame for defense at Tomlin’s feet.. yet you credit the defense, not Tomlin.

There comes a point where you just sound like Tomlin sits in a cave all week and gets wheeled out like Hannibal Lecter on game day for 3 hours and then they wheel him back into his cave.

You can’t credit the players for wins and blame the HC for losses. That isn’t how this works.

I “think” his point is Tomlin detractors should be able to continue to bash Tomlin AND predict failure..

what I also fail to understand is no one is predicting or wishing failure on Ben yet its being presented as such.

I’m viewed as a Ben hater but I have no problem complimenting him when he balls out. On game days I cheer for Ben and in chat I root for him to succeed.

Tomlin detractors tend to bash during games, during commercials, during halftime.. etc. They root against Tomlin and for the team (is that even possible?).

You do know Ben set his career high for comebacks AS A ROOKIE in 2004.

Tomlin was leading the best secondary in the NFL as a Buc that year.

                      Your point?

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

                      TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

The proper expression is "Steeler fans".

It is only normal for a fan to cheer for the success of its coach.

I think part of the problem with some fans is bashing Tomlin and pointing out his s playoff failures doesn’t protect Ben at all...

If Tomlin hasn’t won in 10 years guess who also came up short?

Then if you actually look at stats and turnovers you realize..

but anyway, my point is regardless of frustrations everyone should understand why Ben and Tomlin are back for another year.

You can't have play off success if you don't win in the regular season. Tomlin has us in the miz every year. I would love to advance further, but every game I saw had a player being a bigger impact on not advancing than the Head Coach. Just look at Ben and Pouncey last year.
