I don't know if he can still play at NFL caliber level. Perhaps, perhaps not.
but I'm quite sure of two things. The team that signs him will have a circus to deal with all pre-season, and perhaps all through the regular season.
And second, if he no longer is able to perform - no one will give them the benefit of the doubt if he's cut. Not one media person out there will say it was because of performance. They will say it's everything but.
So if you're a GM - you gotta ask yourself if that price is worth paying for a backup.2014 MNF EXEC CHAMPION!!!Comment

That has always been the issue with signing him since the day he left the 49'ers. I don't know that there has been any collusion to keep him out of the NFL. If he had Tom Brady-like skills, he would have been signed and a team would have figured out how to deal with the kneeling a long time ago. But when you start putting stink on tape, then the drama that goes along with signing him starts to weigh heavily.
If he's ever going to play again, now would be the time. People have come around to the understanding that kneeling isn't disrespecting America/the flag/the millitary but calling attention to a real problem. The drama will still surround him but there's at least a much more understanding environment today.
Unfortunately for him, I think he was just a few-year wonder and has neither the required skill-set nor the desire.Comment
