He should but he won’t... then again we picked up Vick so who knows.

He’s probably still better than Rudolph without a playbook.

like his team was when they had a defense

That team quit on Harbaugh.. or he ran them into the ground. I remember a lineman said “This coach cares too much about winning.. he needs to relax”

        Why should he be?
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

because he is just as good if not better than most backups like Rudolph.

But that was a bad 9ers team by then. He did get them to the SB the season before those and nearly won it.

              Based on what?
He hasn't played in 3 years. He was not good the couple years before that.
He proved he had no desire to come back and play.
He could have proved his worth as a backup in the NFL or starter in the xfl or whatever league that is.
              He only wanted starter money.
All his antics of pretending to be blackballed showed to be a farce.

" The season before those ", plus the 4 he has been out is SIX years...It isn't like he's Micheal Jordan coming back after a six year layoff

He wants starter money. We weren't interested in Jameis Winston, who signed for one year at $1 million. There's no way, to backup Ben, that we'll go after a guy who's been out several years, who wasn't all that his last year in the league, and who wants more than 10 million a year. Tough enough to get under the cap as it is, no way we add a backup QB at a premium price.

I in no way meant to imply I wanted Kap in Pgh. I was just saying at one point he played so well everyone thought he was the "new s--t." A lot of folks act like he was always garbage as a player. Can he play well now? Unlikely. Especially considering what's going on.

All true, but he's not a "fit" period, at any price (and I'm saying you did). I'm not ripping on him (I actually was on his side mostly). But from a pure football point of view, distractions are bad.

The guy doesn't want to play football.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

It depends, if we are 8-0 and Ben gets hurt, then I think you have to take a look. Right now I dont think there is any reason to pay him.

I think that would even be LESS of a time to have a look at him. Bring him in cold when we're on a hot streak, into an offense he doesn't know? That would be a hot mess IMO.

He wasn't good at all the last time he played. I'd rather see what we have in Rudolph or Lynch.

I see no reason at all to bring him in. But what do I know. I never thought we'd see Michael Vick in a Steelers uniform. That seemed like the Steelers office trying to appease Tony Dungy's effort to work with Vick. At the time, there were a LOT of Steelers fans against that move.

If some team legitimately needs a backup QB and wants to bring him into camp to learn the offense, I have no issue with it. But I think it would be pointless for the Steelers to do it at this point and would just bring unnecessary drama to the team.

                              Let me explain something...........

Kapernick sued the league. And Eric Reid piggy backed on the lawsuit. He and Eric Reid settled for a certain amount of money. They had to split 10mil. When the league gives you money, the money is " go away" money. Think about it; you can't sue someone and then tell them, " now give me a job". It doesn't work that way and never will. There is a collusionary understanding amoung the owners not to
                              sign him ever again.

The reason Roger Goodall didn't mention his name in the league apology is for legal reasons. He can't; or it could lead to a possible opening up of more litigation. Notice Jerry Jones ( who runs the league) has went deaf/silent on this issue along with all the other owners in the league. Eric Reid was allowed back because he wasn't the lightening rod of the issue; Kap was.

Owners are not allowing Kap back ever. His career is over.
