You are all FOOLS if you think we ignore QB in this draft

2.49 Jalen Hurts, QB, Oklahoma ------I hope he doesn't play one game. I hope Rudolph doesn't play one game. And make no mistake Rudolph would be the QB2 on the depth chart. But I cannot put all my marbles on Ben's health with a team this able to compete for Lombardi #7. Yes it's great that Ben says he feels better than he has in years. But the type of his surgery was still never disclosed. Who knows what happens to that elbow when a 270lb linebacker slams into it? A lot are saying that we need a RB for insurance due to Conner's injury history. But what about QB insurance? QB>>>RB value in this league. I don't see how you can write off Conner's health while giving Roethlisberger a free pass. As for the player himself, if Rudolph still can't stop "killing us," Hurts I think is the most plug and play of any QB available at 2.49. And he will be good competition for Rudolph after Ben retires with his third ring.

3.102 Darrynton Evans, RB, Appalachian State---- One of the best speed RBs in the class. Should provide good balance to Conner and Snell's styles.
4.124 Quez Watkins, WR, Southern Miss---- True speed demon. Mike Wallace-esque 4.35 40-time. Decent hands and returns kicks too.
4.135 Tanner Muse, S, Clemson---- Expect to be a backup S, that replaces Barron on 3rd and longs as a type of $LB. Will be excellent on special teams
6.198 Trey Adams, OT, Washington---- A high-risk OT to compete with Derwin Gray for second backup after the Banner/Okarafor showdown.
7.232 Chris Orr, LB, Wisconsin----- Competition at Buck ILB for Spillane to backup Vinny Williams, a former sixth-rounder himself.

-Sign Damon Harrison for NT. He wants to play for a contender and I bet would love to play for Tomlin. More DL depth.

You never say never and you don't want to rule anything out. Regarding qb I'm not ruling it out at all but I would say late. If a Luton is still on the board late. That kid has nice vision n makes quick decisions. He's not the athletic qb we're seeing now in the league he's more old school. Tall 6'6' pocket passer but imho he is a bit under the radar. Liked what I saw of him a lot but qb is hard to know if they'll pan out. Pick 198 could be a kid like that. Not out of the question.
Evans has speed but first tackler doesn't miss much and he was under 200lbs in college. Can he be a good NFL player sure he can. However more of a specialist .…...3rd down or special teams. Cause of those limitations I think he'll be more of a 4th or 5th round guy.
Muse will be a ILB in the pro's since he can't cover in man. Has speed and has awareness in coverage so he could be productive. I agree special teams is where he'll excel. To me 4th round is to rich for a kid making a position change and doesn't play the pass well in a passing league. Should be around in the 6th.
If we don't land a O I'm good with signing Harrison even if it's 1 year only.

honestly at this point id rather be all in for Ben since thats the clear message from the Steelers organization. If Ben goes down... we are just gonna have to ride with MR. I dont see a QB at pick 49 as being an immediate upgrade to MR (this year)... but i do see other positions of need being addressed there (and later) that could provide immediate upgrades and key depth that could solidify us as contenders.

I think next year is the year to draft a QB (heir apparent) if MR proves not to be the guy... and at that.. we will likely have to pull a Devin Bush type trade to move up high enough in the 1st to get our guy (which im fine with).

If it's not hurts, I don't want to waste a pick on qb.
We need a starter, not competition for #2.
I feel the same way about rb.
I do think Muse will be over drafted by us. Instant special team upgrade.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

Me too. I really think that the team likes Rudolph and his potential. Why do you think Matt Canada was brought in? You're a "fool" if you think it was to help develop Ben?

No doubt Canada was brought in to develop Rudolph (because Fichtner can't as an OC) and when Ben leaves and Rudolph becomes the guy, Canada steps up to be the Off Coord.

I definitely think (at a minimum) its too early to say that MR isnt the guy..... especially since we had a 1st round grade on him.

                      Rudolph is a bum.

I mean, he’s not really a bum but he has a lot of work and I’m not sure we have the patience to continue down this path.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we gave him one more year as a backup but if he plays significant time best believe we will regret not upgrading the position.

Is Lynch still on the roster? My hope is the QB coach can get that dude to show a lil something.

I have zero faith Rudolph as a long term solution. Blame it on the injuries, not sure but that dude looked like a stiff after the Ravens game. Reminded me of Tommy Gun after his injury. Dude was never the same.

I believe the Steelers are in the very small, win now window...Capped out their cap bringing in Ebron, Watt, Wisniewski, and Wormley...

You absolutely let this year play out...Lots of big names in contract years...Win big and who knows, Another **** year like the last 2...You draft a QB 1st pick next year...And if we're sitting at like 12 or whatever...You move up even more to "hopefully" get the next franchise QB

Agreed 100%...Maybe the Dude has never been really hurt before but, He looked like a deer in the headlights after the injury...

Maybe he's not mentally strong, or have that internal fortitude...Ben is a warrior, When they show those head to toe full body scans...Ben looks like a roadmap, There's hardly anything he HASN'T broken or injured...

Idk, MR had question marks before last year..I just don't see it...An average QB, AT BEST!

I think Lynch is the #3 QB, so yeah he’s still around. I believe Duck is gone...or will be gone.

I see Rudolph getting another year of maturation with us. Letting Canada work some more with him and bring him along. Yes he looked bad last year but we've
seen young guys mature from one year to the next. Staying in the same system also will go along way with his maturation. Yeah he looked liked garbage but
let's see what this year brings.
