I said he won't be and based on his scouting report and his poor play he hasnt done anything to suggest he will be a solid NFL QB, so I have no reason to think he will be.

the poor play wasnt across the board... at times he outperformed much higher ranked rookie prospects. Kinda funny folks forget some of the good things a kid does... when they are ready to move on from him.

Nobody said that
That is not developement that is learning the playbook and timing with their teammates. Thats why that first year is all about reps and not about learning how to play to QB. If your nota good QB teams are not going to take the time to try and make you one.

learning the playbook is part of the jump that requires mental development in order to be successful at the NFL level.

theres a huge learning curve involved.. sure, there are kids that come out of college with all of the physical tools to be a solid NFL QB from day 1... unfortunately... theres alot more involved in that than just the tangibles

Im sure folks are happy that we didnt cut Bradshaw after his Rookie year (6 TDs/24INTs).. or Dallas with Aikman his rookie year (0-11).
Good QB’s drafted high on bad teams tend to struggle early on.

Peyton also has a high turnover rate.

Thing is.. these QB’s are usually asked to do a lot their first year.

I don’t think our FO will show the patience they usually give a high draft pick when it comes to Duck. Mason might get more rope but eventually we will move on from him if he doesn’t show improvement.

i agree with that...and why would they? They don't have anything invested in Duck. He was just a camp arm.. initially

The Genius has drafted 10 QBs since Brady was selected in 2001. These picks ranged from the 2nd rd to the 7th rd. A few have been adequate to starter level QBs.

                  Garropolo
                  Brisset
                  Cassel

Not on board trying to trade up significantly for a QB in Round 1. Too much risk for an uncertain reward.

For a late round sleeper check: Jake Luton - Oregon State

Someone else on the Fox sports radio was talking about Jake Luton as well.

                      you're comparing apples to oranges..

troy and terry had all the tools you look for in a QB to go #1 in the draft.

I think Duck may be able to be a back up somewhere but he will never develop something like arm strength. that's just god given ability. and from watching the last couple games you can see his throws lack that
