so i guess at this point wed have to define what "A while" is.. This post is less than 3 weeks old.

Duck has thrown 1 TD and 6 INT’s in the last 6 quarters.

Are you suggesting he hasn’t been trash the last few weeks?

I hope he proves me wrong and takes us to the playoffs but I don’t see him as a long term solution.

in the age of instant gratification.. i guess all of the knee jerk reactions make sense (not sayin i agree). We must remember that both of those guys are very young (with Duck being a rookie). It would surprise me too much if either one ended up being solid NFL QBs.
Im sure folks are happy that we didnt cut Bradshaw after his Rookie year (6 TDs/24INTs).. or Dallas with Aikman his rookie year (0-11).

Duck is not going to be a solid NFL QB and I doubt Rudolph will be either but Rudolph has the better shot. I don't think comparing the starts to QB's from past eras really tells you anything. The QB's coming out of college these days are coming in ready to play because they are asked to do more in college whereas in the past most college teams were running very simple concepts and just beating people by recruiting better athletes. There isn't this period where a QB sits and learns, they are expected to perform right away and if they can't they rarely get another opportunity.

I stopped after reading "Duck isnt going to be a solid NFL QB". Sorry man.. while you may be right.. using your crystal ball as your "Headliner" for an argument is laughable.

Alright.. the whole "There isnt a period where a QB sits and learns" thing is false. Drew Locke was not drafted in Denver to be a day 1 starter. Same with Daniel Jones, same with Pat Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, D Haskins etc etc.. Yes, rookie QBs do end up being forced into the starting lineup out of necessity with bad teams (K. Murray, Sam Darnold etc..) but it is by no means the preferred method to developing franchise QBs.

It doesnt matter if they start day 1, the point is they aren't drafted to be developed, they are expected to be ready to go right out of college, especially because teams want that QB on a rookie contract. Teams are not going to spend years developing Rudolph or Hodges when they can draft a guy ready to go and get him playing while under that favorable contract.

Really the argument that Duck Hodges wont be a solid NFL QB is laughable? Are you suggesting that there is no evidence that Duck wont be a solid NFL QB? And the only way to know this is to use a crystal ball?

Uhh.... sitting a year is development. Sure, itd be nice for QBs to be NFL ready right out of the gate.. but most teams are smart enough to know theres a learning curve involved...and yea, i agree teams want to take advantage of a QB on a rookie deal.. it doesnt have to be a situation where a QB is developing for the length of his rookie deal. Nobody said that
