Elite receivers are pretty irrelevant to championships in this era.

If our receiver corp is "below average" overall...THAT is a problem
I guess the Steelers proved that during the AB era.
Interesting they are also trying to prove a franchise RB is not needed.

      Point already proven.
We been to 4 SBs since the 70s. How many "franchise backs" started those games?

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

      TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Oh, no. His point is valid, exactly what I'm bout to show.

        You think Brown fixes anything.
How many TDs does Brown have as a Steeler by a QB NOT named Ben Roethlisburger?

        ZERO.

AB did Jack squat on this team whenever Ben was out. All he did was whine that he wasn't getting the ball.

Well I thought you would get the joke.

I previously said I wouldn’t go in on JuJu because Mason was the QB.

Because you know.. when your team is on the 2nd and 3rd QB it’s hard to evaluate skill positions because teams don’t fear the QB.

Kinda like how Bell was playing with 2nd and 3rd string QB’s for half of his season this year while Darnold was out.

It’s a shame I had to write that all out.

Bell was on the decline his last season as a Steeler. He put up numbers because he had SO MANY touches.

            2017 season:
Our team was TWENTIETH in rushing with Bell leading the league in carries.
The Eagles were third in rushing and won the SB lead by TWO GUYS (Ajayi and Blount) who as far as I know are waiting by the phone for a call.

TWENTY TEAMS...were better overall than us in rushing (and before you talk "carries" we were 15th in carries, 20th in yards).
            28th in YPC...WITH Bell

He was still a work horse as a receiver his last year.

              85 receptions for 655.

He was the only back thrown to.
Number 2 guy had like TWO receptions.

RBs OVERALL are similarly productive receivers.
Difference now...catches are split reasonably between guys at the position.

Guys like you see one guys fantasy numbers rather than the overall productivity of the position.

seemed worse than that to me, our offense is one of the worst in the league.

yeah, I'm not seeing what some fans on other boards are in trying to push out ben next year, even if healthy..
I thought aikman had a good assesment in the first 1qr when he said MR doesn't move that step to the left/right/up when he needs to gain an extra second away from the rush.
                        "looks robotic"

its early in his career so I'm not giving up hope just yet, but i've seen better from QBs early on that didn't amount to anything. guys like trubinsky, tannehill, mariotta, geno smith, snachez etc etc all have looked better then this IMO

Hope Ben has a couple more seasons left on the tires.

MR and company was like “hold my IC” and just disrespected the game of football last night.

Mason's Pocket Presence is just terrible, his play recognition is bad, his accuracy is bad, and he doesn't seem to have the arm strength to hit those deep go routes.

He’s not stepping into throws, while the OL didn’t help Mason has to recognize the rush and slide in the pocket.

I used to think he was standing y’all in the pocket but dude is just unaware.
