Brady is a Gen Xer and Mahomes is a Millennial or Gen Zer which means he is way soft in comparison.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

Also, the odds that Brady has sold his soul to the devil seem to be pretty high.

        - Severity of injuries for QB sneaks

Then, is the presumably increased success rate of QB sneak worth the potential injury / severity to QBs.

This is also the kind of decision where coaches might get fired if the QB gets hurt. I'm sure there are lots of hates on Chief's sites furiously typing about how they risked the franchise on a first down in a game in October that ultimately has little meaning for the team.
when I lived in Philly I watc he d McNabb play on a bad ankle. Real gutsy performance.

My first reaction was “why risk the season for one game.

A guy said “you only have 16 games, you never know which one is the difference between the playoffs, bye week, etc.”

KC was on a 2 game skid and desperate for a win. I guess you could say it was a bad decision but if they don’t get the first down and end up losing everyone would scream for the QB sneak.

It’s a damned if to you do or don’t situation.

I agree with this. That's why it sucks to be a coach.

              That's just not possible.

It's well-known that Belichick extracts the souls of all of his players during training camp. They're returned at the end of the season, of course, but only if there's a duck-boat parade in Boston on the schedule.

It seems the Steelers coaches were correct for not allowing Ben to attempt QB sneaks over the years.
No, the Steelers are always wrong especially Tomlin

Your statement implies that Belichick is not the devil.

I'm going to need you to show your work on that one.

I bet that's the last time Andy does a QB sneak with Mahomes.

Maybe this year but I bet he does it again.

So your saying that Belichick is the Devil, or at least a close relative?

fluke injury. the sneak is a high-percentage play that is relatively low risk. as for haley and fichtner - I like the sneak but I don't mind that they don't want to use it and 'protect' the QB. There's an argument to be made in either direction. What I minded was how vocal they were about it and basically took some of the guesswork out of 3rd/4th and short for the defense. To me, telling your opponent you're never going to run a particular play - and then stick to that, is just stupid.

There is nothing in the rule book that's says the QB can't sneak even if it's not called by a coach.
