'Tell me who is gonna be better'
That's got to be one of the stupidest arguments ever to keep someone.
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?
Why would Tomlin leave?
He isn't held accountable here and has job security.
Rooney's don't fire coaches so thet aren't going to trade one either. Obviously they are happy with underachieving. They like to say they only have had 4 coaches in 50 years...

It's more like
Making decisions with expected negative return is a really terrible practice.
We almost beat the team that's going to win the division with our 2nd and 3rd (really 4th) string QBs who have like 3 games of experience between them.
We don't have the talent on O to score points (or even get 1st downs).
We're losing because we're not good. Not because of decisions made by the coach (which likely have small but positive effects on win percentage)

BS. Go back and read all the threads about how great our wr corp is, our rbs are great and 3 deep, got a franchise qb waiting for Ben to retire, top 5 oline in NFL.
All our draft picks were awesome. Same with FA. No drama to deal with, huge production projections , great players aren't gonna make the 53, season predictions with most fans claiming 11-5 to 14-2 etc etc.
Then add in the incredible trades made during the season.
No way all that can be said by so many knowledgeable fans and now claim no talent.

I'm not beholden to the beliefs of others on the board (not big on group think).
Maniac was wrong about our WR corps. But that's probably a combination of optimism and not enough data (and also assuming Ben would make WRs better).
You can read my posts about the WRs if you like. I said we had Juju who was good and then a bunch of question marks.
Instead of hiding behind straw men, why don't you tell us what you think about our talent at WR and on O in general.

And they have obviously underachieved, I mean they only have run one of the most historic and successful franchises in history.
That is ridiculous. There aren't 7 billion who can be successful NFL coaches. Just look at how many HC get hired and fired every year. That is why you don't dump a good one when you have one to appease a spoiled fan base. By any statistical analysis it is unlikely you can easily replace Tomlin's success year in and year out.
Good one? That statement alone makes me stop reading anything you wrote after that.
Cowboys will sell their souls to hire him. He will be the highest paid coach in the NFL the day he is hired.
And out of a job in two years. Tomlin isn't fooling anyone nor can he build a team. He has only lasted this long because he is the face for the Rooney Rule. He will be exposed in two years for another team and working in college or the assistant ranks after he gets fired.
And they have obviously underachieved, I mean they only have run one of the most historic and successful franchises in history.
Our regular seasons record has been great but 3 post season wins in 8 years is not success in my eyes.
There are a dozen teams with that many or more during that span and most with far less talent.
Obviously there are fans happy with the way our last 10 seasons have ended. I'm not one of them.

Maybe the Rooney's don't think it's due to coaching and maybe they know a little bit about football.

Again, what do you think of the talent level of the offense this year?

Better than 29th in the league.

I'm 100% confident in saying that Jay Gruden would have been just as successful or moreso especially in the playoffs than Tomlin.
They win in spite of him, not because of him. What exactly does Tomlin do good except cliches and cheerleading?
Agreed. But I think there are lots of coaches that would also.

aside from maybe belichcik, I don't think any coach is worth a top 5 pick. that said, I doubt washington gives up a top 5 pick for a coach, even as dumb as they are
But, i'd take a their 2nd and #1 next year if they are that interested
