    Are you still that confident?
I feel pretty good about it.

But I can tell you that I'm rock , solid ( 100%)confident about us not winning another Super Bowl with Tomlin as our head coach.

Your bet could go possibly either way; So I pass on your bet. But my bet I KNOW is only going to go one way. Do you care to take MY BET?

I don't care to take your bet. I think taking the field is always a way better choice than taking any one team.

Tomlin not winning another SB is the more likely outcome so it doesn't make sense at even stakes.

I'd say that's true for every HC in the league... Although I would probably take the bet for BB.

I thought we'd both be OK with my bet because the stakes were even and we'd both think we were getting 4 to 1 odds for free.

Maybe you don't actually think Tomlin has an 80% chance to be done after next season?

For some teams, the owner hires a director of football operations, who then hires a G.M., who then hires a coach, but the Steelers are not structured in that manner.

Besides, it's entirely possible that the next time that Rooney is looking to hire the next head coach of the Steelers, Colbert may already be retired (Colbert is currently 62 and Tomlin is currently 46).
Rooney is the owner; of course it is ULTIMATELY he who has to say yes. But he is going to take in input from Colbert. Colbert could retire soon. Whoever is the GM at the time (most likely Colbert) he will have input.

It's not about "taking the field". The man hasn't done anything since he's drafted and coached his own players. If Tomlin were here another 10 years (just like Don Shula was) he's not going to win anything. He's not good enough. But he won't be here that much longer anyway.

Oh, I do feel pretty good (80 %) that he won't be here next year. But when I bet, I bet when I'm feeling 100%. That's how I bet.

You deflect from my bet. Because YOU don't really feel that good about Tomlin as a coach. Because you know he's not any good. If he was good, he'd go on and save his job and win a Super Bowl down the line. But you know I'm right about him. You know I'm right.

Why the hell are you so anxious to bet against your own team???
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

No, I think it's not a good bet because the math works for you but not me.

If we're both being truthful the math in my bet works for both of us.

Ruth, let me hold your hand, and look romantically in your eyes, and tell you.....

I'm not betting against my team. I'd bet against Tomlin. You see, Tomlin is not in our best interest anymore. You don't see it yet. And I get that. But I'm already looking down the line, further down the road toward us winning a Super Bowl again. He can't take us where we want to go. So holding him is just holding us back at this point.

You don't feel that way; And I get that. But I see it as clear as the blue sky. Nobody loves the Steelers more then me; nobody. But the body (Steeler team) can't get well until you get the cancer (Tomlin) out the body. I see that. You don't.

                    Love Steel Maniac.

It's exactly about taking the field.

Let's say your right about Tomlin getting canned next year.

Then I'd take the 1/32 chance the Steelers win, and you'd get the 31/32 chance that another team wins.

My odds get better the longer Tomlin coaches (i think that will be basically be as long as he wants to here or with another team). But your still taking the field every year.

That makes it a stupid bet if I'm only getting even stakes.

Again, I don't hate anyone. Will you stop with that? When someone doesn't agree with you, you accuse them of hating. This racial stuff you guys insinuates is sad.

North, if Tomlin coaches another 10 years, on top of the ten he's already wasted, he won't win a super bowl.

                                Nope.

I think you hate Tomlin because you have unrealistic expectations for your favorite football team and you've chosen him as the person to blame because you think coaches are more important than players for success.
