Yeah, Rooney is deeply involved. You can tell by what he said. But in the locker room, if AB stays, it will be Tomlin who will bear the brunt of how players perceive him and feel what they can get away with.

I guess I'd think that the players would generally prefer to have a HoF level player on the team than off the team. Who knows though, maybe they're just tired of dealing with him.Comment

Tomlin can't just get rid of players, the organization has invested a lot of money into AB. Do you really think they are letting the coach make that decision? No way they are paying AB all that money and then just leaving it up to the coach to cut him and get nothing back in return. Also if your Tomlin you cant bench him for any considerable amount of time, how could you explain having that much money and production sitting on the bench?Comment

Mr. Wizard, go see the profootbaltalk story that broke today with TO. TO been coaching Brown. He’s done here in Pittsburgh. You might as well stop fighting it and embrace it for what it is.Tomlin can't just get rid of players, the organization has invested a lot of money into AB. Do you mean this story?
Fourteen years after Hall of Fame receiver Terrell Owens engaged in a protracted standoff with the Philadelphia Eagles, another star receiver inches toward a showdown with the NFL franchise on the other side of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
I didn't see anything in there about what Brown's team mates have said. But, I thought I heard that those in the Probowl said things like "time heals all wounds".
To me, the link above seemed to say that it's friction between AB and Ben:
“He wants to move on. . . . I don’t like how Ben [Roethlisberger] has kind of thrown him under the bus in certain instances. . . . I think Ben owes him a lot more respect than he has given him. . . . I mean even from the standpoint of him saying he didn’t know anything about a blowup [at practice prior to Week 17] when he was part of the blowup.”
But, there aren't any quotes from AB or Ben...just TO. And TO sort of implies that conversations he had with AB were "throughout the course of the year" as opposed to since the end of the season.
Without any corroberating statements from AB or Ben, this feels pretty tabloidy to me. It feels almost like TO is a media whore who would do just about anything to put himself in the spotlight for a bit.

It might be true.
But the only thing I've seen from AB came through his agent (posted by Ruthless): ""(Report) has no idea what our position is. We have not shared it with anyone outside of the Steelers. We have shared our thoughts with the Steelers but will keep those discussions internal." If this is true and TO is "outside the Steelers", then AB's agent seems to be saying that it's BS.
But I don't believe this report either because agents certainly have a vested interest as well.
Maybe TO is in his ear. Maybe he's listening to TO. Maybe Rausenhous is telling the truth and they haven't talked to anyone by the Steelers.
But I'm not going to take anything as gospel at this point. I'll wait the month or so until the Steelers have to make a decision.Comment

It's just one of many puzzle pieces that (when fully assembled) show that AB wants out of Pittsburgh. It might be true.

Nothing to do with what I said, the point was that unless the organization does something about Brown Tomlin has no choice but to tolerate it.Comment

its a tough situation...and is only going to get worse, the longer it drags out (assuming AB wants out).Comment
