This is the most mind boggling thread of the year.
Maniac says that there is no way that Baltimore loses to Cleveland, since the Ravens are better than the Browns in every facet except QB including coaching.
My statement was not a guarantee of Cleveland victory, nor even a prediction of Cleveland victory. I merely found it odd that some Steeler fans were giving the Browns little to no chance to beat the Ravens, when Baltimore lost in the exact same "win-and-you're-in" week 17 scenario last year, to a weaker team than the Browns were this year.
If I predicted anything at all, it was merely that the Browns had a legitimate chance against the Ravens, and yeah, I'd be rooting for them to win. Your prediction was that there was no realistic reason that the Ravens would lose to the Browns.
When the Browns were driving with the ball in a 2 minute drill, down 2 points so a FG would win it, and they had 4 opportunities to get the one more first down that they would need for a reasonable FG attempt, everyone in Heinz Field watching the game on the Jumbotron (including the players on the field) knew the Browns had a legit shot at the upset victory. It was surreal to hear the crowd waving Terrible Towels and cheering on the Cleveland #&@%ing Browns, but it was probably louder during those last 2 minutes of the CLE@BAL game than it was at any point during the CIN@PIT game (with the exception of Renegade, of course).
Thanks to folks like SASF, Lemming, NJ, North, Robin, Kindle, Wizard, etc. for knowing how to read the words that I actually wrote as opposed to manufacturing some delusional prediction guarantee.
And for the record, yes, I was at the game. I was posting on threads prior to the game because my father drove us to Pittsburgh. I was not posting on threads after the game because I drove us back home from Pittsburgh (it's a 5-6 hour drive for us each way). I did not get home until 2:30 a.m., got a few hours of sleep then had a half day of work before spending New Years Eve and New Years Day with family and friends rather than spending my holiday time off typing on a Steeler board. If that's 12 year old behavior, then I guess I'm happy to be a pre-teen forever.
Congrats on your "no chance" last minute 2 point victory...we are all super impressed by your Nostradamus-like abilities. No. He said the Browns would win the game. He did spell out all the Browns virtue but ended by predicting a Browns victory. And then was embarrassed that he was wrong and then decides to show up today.....3 days later because of his embarrassment.
For me, there isn't anymore to discuss on this topic because it was plan for everyone to see for the last three days. It's beating a dead horse now.Comment

All that I did was question shortsighted posters (like you) who gave the Browns no chance to win. And since they were driving the ball at the end of the game on the verge of FG range while down only 2 points, they had a very solid chance to win the game.
