My friend, everybody thinks "they" are realistic.

"Myopic" fans see themselves as realistic as opposed to negative fans. They never express disagreement with positivity as they perceive it as realistic.

Negative fans see themselves as realistic as opposed to myopic fans. They never disagree with a negative comment because they perceive negativity as realistic.

Truly realistic fans see that there are indeed 3 categories and the fallacy of both positive and negative extremes.

I see what your saying but respectfully disagree. I see the fans that some perceive as negative as fans who are just fed up and who hang on to a team's consistent patterns of failure more so then the positive myopic fans who see everything as sunny.

But both sides just as much a fan as the other regardless.

I think we should "accept tip roast" too. I find that he's always been respectful and I think it's great to hear voices outside of our own echo chamber.

No different than many "negative" fans after a victory.
Plenty to say after a Steeler loss....not so much after a win.

I express an "opinion" that I can prove is a "fact". You havent been here for long so I will give you an example.
Squid came to this board when the Steelers were several years away from a playoff win. At that time he didnt talk just about not making a SB.

He CONSTANTLY made the point that Tomlin cannot win "a playoff game" with his own players.
Everybody who was here back then knows it.....his stinkin signature made reference to it.

The Steeler subsequently went to the AFC championship.

I will give you another example. Crash (who you apparently know from another site) is why I took the name "Captain Lemming". He use to call me a "Lemming" for backing Bill Cowher back in the day.
He used to say Cowher could never win a SB. Was HE just being "realistic" or was he overly negative?

No he was PROVEN wrong, proven to indeed be "overly negative".
As recently as LAST WEEK "overly negative" was proven wrong....factually incorrect.

Cowher couldn’t win and didn’t win until he got a legit qb in Ben. I always liked Cowher and I knew he was a good coach but getting and having a legit qb is the name of the game in the nfl. Yep, Crash was being short sighted and not looking at things in an objective eye.

I see Todd Bowles in that same light as Cowher. Bowles is a good coach but he needs to be with a legit organization. Not withbthe disfunctional front office of the Jets.
