My understanding of management techniques is that telling someone they are in jeopardy of losing their job is what you do when you're pretty much going to fire them anyway. I think it's more of a part of most companies formal process for getting rid of someone they don't want than an attempt to get someone to improve.

Come back soon, squid. Maniac needs you to post so he'll have something to respond to with "......................." or "BOOM" or "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA". How dare those tricky Steeler fans fool you by betting on their favorite team instead of against them.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

What I've seen is that some people who feel secure in their job get lazy about their work, and that a firm reminder about the possible consequences of not holding up their end of the agreement can help spur them to be more diligent about carrying out their responsibilities.

Looking at Brady’s game now, I too felt calm. I was concerned he was going to somehow find his old self because of playing us. But he was still as smoked out as he’s been all season so I was feeling good throughout.

                Don't let em "Trick you?"

                I don't think so.

                1. Steelhere predicted a Steeler victory.

                2. Squid said, "wanna bet" (he suggested a bet my friend)

                3. "I" (Captain Lemming) accepted and expressed my confidence in Steeler victory by putting up the my seasons presence on this board on the line as the bet.

                4. YOU my friend made sure he saw and accepted my bet. Kinda pressured the guy.

                No, I didn't trick nobody.

Wait. You made sure he showed up for the bet and are disappointed he lost. Musta been sure we'd lose.......hey you wanted me gone!!

And I thought you liked me.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

What does it mean when your team loses to Oakland then beats New England in back-to-back weeks?

It means that they can beat anybody. And they also can lose to anybody.

The quality of the opponent seems almost irrelevant this season.

We can easily beat ourselves any given week by hemorrhaging turnovers on offense or allowing teams to move the ball seemingly at will on defense or consistently kicking the ball wide right.

But we still have been in every game this season, and can take down any team at any time if we play our game while keeping costly mistakes to a minimum.

We were able to follow-up a sub-par September record of 1-2-1 by going on a 6 game win streak. If we follow-up our recent 3 game slide with another 6 game win streak, we are playing in the Super Bowl.

Play our game and minimize mistakes and all possibilities are still readily available. Enjoy the ride, folks.

Cap, you and me are good. I didn’t want you or him gone. I thought the whole bet thing was kinda silly. We all are Steeler fans. Some fans are myopic while others tend to be more realistic but all are Steeler fans. Accept tip roast. Lol

I know we are good. My post was "tongue in cheek". Therefore the smiley in the post.

That said, you can't call the bet "silly" when YOU essentially egged squid into accepting the bet.

You mentioned tiproast? Ironically, he has more respect for our team than some "fans".

Also there is a 3rd category of fans. Negative fans.

My friend, everybody thinks "they" are realistic.

"Myopic" fans see themselves as realistic as opposed to negative fans. They never express disagreement with positivity as they perceive it as realistic.

Negative fans see themselves as realistic as opposed to myopic fans. They never disagree with a negative comment because they perceive negativity as realistic.

Truly realistic fans see that there are indeed 3 categories and the fallacy of both positive and negative extremes.
