If he signed for 52 with a chance to make 61 mill why can’t that number be used?

The 4 years a 52 isn’t a bad contract to begin with. He could’ve made another 14.5 but we know why he didn’t. He didn’t want to risk an injury. He didn’t risk 409 more chances to get hurt and we missed the playoffs.

It’s not like we won anything in this saga.

Most people claiming victory said Bell wouldn’t get anywhere near the 35 mill guaranteed and thought he would get 10 per year.

Except it fails to mention what Bell was REALLY after and failed to get. He wanted to reset the bar for rb pay because they touch the ball more than most anyone in offense. But he didn’t figure in that rbs are easier to plug in than other skill positions. He was never going to get $17M/year, whether he’s truely savage or not.
