Looking back on what the Steelers did offer, does that mean we offer guys too much money? Are we bad negotiators? We offered Bell too much, gave AB too much, probably overpaid for Pouncey and Chickillo. We didn't get a great return on AB for the trade compared to what the Giants got for OBJ.

Maybe it sends a bit of a message that if the Steelers offer you a contract, it's probably fair or more than fair and future guys should take the contract.
Exactly. lol. Bell took a gamble and lost. He should have accepted our deal. Sure... talk about "Guaranteed $$$ all you want... you see how the Steelers take care of their own "Shazier". It's a weak argument. The Bell lovers need to admit that Bell didn't get what they thought he would... and move on.

Now he's a "Jet" lol. will see how that works out for him. Hope he enjoys losing.

Guaranteed money is not a weak argument, it is what every player is looking for. I thought he would get more, but lets be real the Steelers were not going to honor Bell's contract if he got hurt so comparing the situation to Shazier's is crazy.

I figured you might show up after "Oh wow"... lol. Don't simply your argument by stating the Steelers wouldn't "Honor their contract"... did they honor their contract with him the last time he blew his knee?

He didn't get near the money (or the amount of offers in his price range) the "Bell crowd" said he'd get... I know its going to take some time to digest (ie admit they were wrong). Bell didn't get the interest for the amount of money he was looking for. The Jets gave a midnight deadline... Bell panicked and signed it.

Of course they honored that contract he was a major talent and they weren't paying him any money. If he suffered a career ending injury like Shazier they would not of honored the long term contract. Guaranteed money is the most important aspect of the contract to the players. I already admitted I was wrong I said I thought he would get more, he didn't, in my opinion even though he got more guaranteed he still probably lost out because he sat out the year, but that of course assumes he would of stayed healthy.

If had a career ending injury in the 1st year they were going to pay him for the next 2?

Steelers offered him a signing bonus and the first year of his contract which were guaranteed.
Bell took a chance and struck out.
Don't try and spin it like he's a FN hero or legend.

Oh wow, what happened?????? All those arguments you had of how Bell would be paid more on the open market. What happened?? The runningback position is a devalued position now. And if Bell would have held out after the draft, he’d have gotten even less after 6 more runningbacks would have been drafted.

Ha!! I’m showing up to defend my prediction.

You shrug at guaranteed money but that’s what this entire thing was about.

He’s making 13 per and has guaranteed money that’s probably spread over the life of the contract.
