I agree. As much as I've bashed the guy, in Reids offense, the part of Bells game that has not declined suits so much of what Reid likes to do. I don't think there could have been a better fit.

While I never wanted to pay him big bucks, I never have been of the opinion that Bell "lost" in the deal. Now dude if a Chief, a championship caliber team suited to his skills AFTER he got guaranteed money he never lived up to?

    Major win for Bell.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

He ain't long with the Chiefs. But it will revive his career.

It is a one year deal for a reason. Bell gets a year in the perfect offense for him, increasing his market value. Chiefs won't extend, as they won't overpay AND the cap hit from Mahomes kicks in hig time.

Bell gets overpaid again by a dumb team looking for a Bell cow back. Say 3 year deal based on age. People will it was just the Jets ineptitude look at what he did as a Chief? Bad move for the team, mo money for Bell.

And Bell will have done it twice.

Its only a dumb team if they fail to utilize him. If he shows that he still has game and goes to a team with a coach who actually wants him and uses him what’s the problem?

Bell went to one of the worst pegs possible and it’s not like he knew Gase was THIS bad at coaching before he signed with them. Maybe he did but the timeline suggest it was after the fact.

yup. Funny how some people celebrated his release from the Jets like it was the end of his career.

I know Ernie and Mark Madden are furious. How does this football player keep getting chances to play football if he’s a failure?

            This.

            From a terrible O to a great O.

Might be a good data point for skill vs coaching.

Teams/GMs can be stupid, but not THAT stupid. He will not get another big contract regardless of what he does in KC. Teams will realize what the truth is.

I still think Bell is not the player he was, and will not get as many touches as he was accustomed to before he became a free agent. So, before declaring this a major win for Bell, I am waiting for at least 6 - 8 games to see how he is utilized and how he produces.

It may not work as well as it seems it will. Some analysts thought he would be an awesome acquisition for the Jets.

I am not saying he will get the same kind of deal. Age will factor in and he will never be the guy he was in his prime.

He WILL look better as a Chief than he actually is.
What I'm saying is that he will be overpaid, more than his value.

If the Jets weren’t a train wreck it may have worked better but it’s obvious Gase is clueless.

It’s hard to see if Bell still had it when there were 3 guys in the backfield on most plays and they didn’t make him a focal point in the passing game.

Bell's defenders make it all about the OL, the coaching, the playcalling and very little or nothing about Bell himself, in NY. But, I think a lot of it
was about Bell. He had more than enough opportunities to show what he could do, and he averaged a paltry 3.3 yards a carry. I think he was expecting to get league leading touches like he was used to in Pittsburgh. That's never going to happen again and NY didn't have a wealth of talent on offense.

KC has a wealth of talent on offense. Clyde Edwards-Helaire is having a strong season at RB. Travis Kelce is one of the better receiving TEs, Tyreek Hill and Mercole Hardman are speed demons and threats to take to the house on any play. throw in Sammy Watkins and their backups at RB. Who is going to lose touches to give them to Bell? He certainly doesn't have the speed of Edwards-Helaire, Hill, Hardman or probably not even Kelce.

He's going to be an afterthought, and he is going to have to prove himself. He's not going to be automatically a go to guy. I'm not sure he will be a big factor.

I don’t think anyone is saying Bell is without fault. He chose a terrible organization. However, Gase’s offensive ranking in Miami over 3 years was terrible. Bell only played in 17 games and you have Gregg Williams bashing the offense with cryptic messages today.

It’s a bad org and I’m surprised Gase still has a job. How manny games in a row does he have to lose?

Oh.. and no rushing TD’s by a RB so far this season in KC in the first 4 games.

I may have been wrong a few pages ago when I speculated he may have hurt RB's bargaining power. Now I'm starting to see the brilliance. Hold out, take advantage of a crappy organization who's desperate. Sucker them into oodles of guaranteed money. Then half-a$$ your way around for a year or so, embarrass them on social media, preserve your body and walk away with life changing money for little effort after they fire you upon which you then get to be romanced by the rest of league and pick for yourself where you REALLY want to play.

                          devious......but brilliant.
