Meanwhile, JH making plays in NE

JH is one of those guys that I will not bet against. He seems to find ways to overcome the odds. People can throw dirt on him all they want, the last game I saw him play in (KC) he looked like the best defensive player on the field. Something "fishy" went on here. And Joey Porter can be a clown! He's probably still butt-hurt that he was cut for JH! Grudges run deep!I read a lot of boards. I've noticed that some of the same people minimizing Harrison's sacks vs. the Jets are crowing about the Steelers setting a team sack record this year. Sort of ironic, don't you think? I mean, by Dupree's admission, Steelers' defenders were freelancing in a meaningless game against the worst team in the league in order to try to break the sack mark!
I watched the Jets game. Harrison played well. He ran well, and showed that he still has the good football instincts. Maybe he can't cover as well as Bud Dupree, but it's apparent that he can do everything else better. Utilized situationally, he can still be a tremendously effective player.
If the Steelers should happen to face the Patriots in the playoffs, I think Villaneuva will have his hands full. I'm not confident that the Steelers get the best of that matchup.Comment

Yeah, the relationship between Porter and Harrison was so bad that Harrison called Porter for advice about signing with New England...

Nice...I'm even more suspicious! It will all come out in the wash! Somebody is going to come out of it smelling like a rose assuming we meet in the afccg...Comment

It's funny because I watched the same game. One of his tackle was 15 yds down field, even the Romo made a point to say that all of the Jet big plays came when JH was in the game but also said that it wasn't JH fault. So maybe you watched a different game than I did my friend.I read a lot of boards. And why wouldn't they get the best of that matchup? They have faced better pash rushers than a 5 sack guy. Smdhhttp://img525.imageshack.us/img525/2...eelers2010.jpgComment

After one game he was already acting like a malcontent."After the first week of the season, I said to them, it’s clear you want to play your younger guys and I understand, so why don’t you release me.
Too bad we didnt release him, with all the drama that was going on during that time.sigpicComment

Stats are funny like that. Folks are on FB bragging about JH stat lines but when I add context they go silent. It's funny because I watched the same game. If, If, If, If......if my aunt had a package, she'd be my uncle. Stop iffing. We faced two real QB's all season and we got lite in both games. Im happy about where we finished but based on the fact we played a top 3 easiest schedule in the league and only two legit QB's, I'm not going to get overly excited.and if we beat the Pats or don’t even play them and get to the big dance folks will still use the Detroit game we won as proof we are doing it wrong.
I would love to shut out teams every week and hold QB’s under 100 yards but sometimes our coaches use the bend don’t break model or makes sacrifices in the game plan.
Did Staffird beat us? No. Did Brady throw for a gazzillion yards? No.
It’s like no matter what our record is or how many sacks we have folks will always say “until we beat (insert name) it doesn’t matter”
well that isn’t true. When we break our record for sacks and go 13-3 and when most folks admit we should be 14-2 and have HFA if not for sh!tty NYC politics I think it matters.
I think the the reason JH isn’t here anymore is because we can do those things without him on the field.
maybe some folks need to admit they got it wrong. Hell, I will admit I got the Watt prediction wrong. Just feels like some folks refuse to accept that we won a different way than they expected and instead of giving credit they double down on something negative. This whole “win the SB or I get to point out how I was right” is laughable. It’s extremely hard to win a SB. Betting on the field is easy to do.

Wow, funny how THAT is the only tackle you saw cleaning up.It's funny because I watched the same game. One of his tackle was 15 yds down field, even the Romo made a point to say that all of the Jet big plays came when JH was in the game but also said that it wasn't JH fault. Amazingly you missed BOTH times in coverage they threw short to try to take advantage of his "old man cant cover" slowness and he blew them up. Both of those tackles contributed to 3 and out drives.
Harrisons tackles.
2 short passes contributing to 2 3 and outs.
2 sacks
1 15 yard cleanup tackle
You chose to see one tackle? I thought I had an agenda.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

I agree; JH forced his way out of here. He should have remained a good teammate and player and who knows what type of action he'd have had in the postseason. So why are some continuing to cry over spilled milk? He's gone; let's move on and hopefully we'll see him in two weeks. That's whats crazy about all this. We win more games than last year and we are the #2 seed and lets be honest, we probably should have been the #1 seed if not for a crazy overturned TD and somehow we are doing it wrong?
and I like JH but anyone getting a sack or 2 with 1:38 left in a game that's a blowout isn't cause for celebration.Comment

I'm sorry if I was too busy watching my team and that you was too busy watching your new team with JH, btw that happens to be during a commercial of my favorite team and I caught the announcer saying that. But good luck since you are a fan of a player of a team and not a fan of a team of players.Wow, funny how THAT is the only tackle you saw cleaning up.

No agenda, I just find it odd that some of you so called loyal steeler fans are still boo hooing over a player that forced his way out and now want to blame the team for finally letting him go.http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/2...eelers2010.jpgComment

I actually have to kind of agree with those who say to move on at this point.
What's done is done.
I don't know what to make of the game against the Jets to be honest. Honestly they really don't have the talent that the Chiefs have, the Steelers have. Jets were done for the year down a starting QB, third string HB and nothing to play for in the end.
If this blows up in the Steelers face then all of us even those who are saying good riddance can agree it was a bad decision.
But I really don't know how bad things got behind the scenes with JH. Management is never going to completely divulge what was happening at the time of the decision. In defense of Tomlin/Colbert my thought is they did not make this decision flippantly. Hell they could've purged Martavis Bryant but gave him a chance to reboot.
My thoughts are whatever happened it became untenable.
But if we find out it won't be until at the end of the Steeler season if ever.
