Totally agree. You aren't getting a Free Agent QB if Ben retires who is half as good as him. You also aren't drafting the next Ben late in Round 1...like at #32

You state the latter as if its a fact, but forget that guys like Russell Wilson and Kirk Cousins were drafted well after the first round.

"The next Ben"??? You probably aren't getting the "Next Ben" with the first pick of the draft (1-1). Im talking about Ben's replacement at QB (and upgrade over Landry Jones)...

Vincenzo! If you told me back in September than Williams would be the best ILB pass rusher we’ve had since Kendrell Bell, I’d have called you crazy!
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Kendrell Bell... Wow... brings back memories. I saw another throwback name on TV this evening that you might remember... Hardy Nickerson.

History says that late 1st round QBs are a mistake with Aaron Rodgers and Dan Marino being the only QBs taken at 1.20 to 1.32 that have had any type of real success in the NFL. A team is better off waiting until round 2 and beyond if you aren't drafting a QB in the top 20. There might be a few that have been serviceable, but that's about it, more likely they became backups if drafted late in the 1st round.

Landry had a passer rating that topped 100 today...that’s all you can realistically expect from your #2 QB...

Exactly, if the Steelers are winning a playoff game and Ben gets dinged, Jones playing the way he did today can hold down the fort and secure the win, which is what you need your backup to do and hope Ben can play the next game. If Jones has to play the next post season game, you shrink the playbook, put him in a position to succeed and hope he turns in a 90+ rating and your defense and special teams step up and win the game. Does anyone really expect a backup to win games with his arm?

Maybe, but from all accounts that I have seen, this QB draft class is really deep.

Might be the year to break the trend...and catch a mid 1st round talent that falls to the end.

LJ had a bad INT and a bad sack-fumble that the Steelers likely should have had points on. A decent opposing offense could have turned these into points. Mistakes in the playoffs are a death sentence for the most part. That said, I've warmed up to LJ a bit but I still get the sense he might be fools gold if he had to play more than 2 games in a row. But he is good value considering his current contract.

I think I saw it was our highest scoring first half of the season.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:
