If there is one team that the Browns want to beat, it's the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Petty has a 46.6 passer rating. His completion percentage is only slightly higher...
To make it worse, I heard that Hackenberg could see his first action as a pro.

Why wouldn’t Cleveland try to win?

If the Pats lost and we lost it would be a real bad look.

An injury to Ben or Bell would be even worse so I get it but I hope those guys dress just in case we need them.

I think I'd play Ben and Bell in the 1st half, hope for a decent lead and then pull them for the 2nd half. The Patriots are playing at the same time, the Steelers can scoreboard watch, if they see a blowout by the Pats, get Ben and Bell off the field, if the game is competitive, keep them in for the 1st half and play the 2nd half by ear.

Went to a sports pub for lunch today (hurray vacation!) and The ticker on the bottom of ESPN gave the Browns an 8.2% chance of winning and that was with Jones at QB.

I'm sure most Browns players are going to come out and give it their all.
Its not like they have an 0-15 record or something.
Not like it's going to be 15 degrees at kickoff.
                    OK, sarcasm off...
I'd bet most Browns players are going to have one foot in the door of their cars waiting to leave and go home.

One thing a lot of you forget about is that there is no guarantee that we play the Pats.
Both teams need to win playoff games first.
I'd rather protect Ben and Bell, the guys imperative to winning the first playoff game.
Just my opinion but i think we win the game w/o them.
The Browns are 0 and FN 15.......

I hope like hell we win, but I can promise you we will see 100% effort from the Browns.

If the team is anything like the fan base, there is nothing but resignation. It is considered a foregone conclusion that Hue Jackson is gone and that more veterans will be let go...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

I thought I saw in the news that the Browns FO made the decision to keep Hugh Jackson around next year... will have to go back to confirm. Regardless, we are talking about young men who are auditioning for future work... with the Browns or elsewhere. Many of them have yet to sign "The big contract". It's the same reason why guys work their tails off in pre season games (when they essentially mean nothing). There's also something to be said about "Pride" with these young men.

Haslam offered some lukewarm support for Hue, but the new GM has expressed less support than that...how do you keep a coach who will be, AT BEST, 2 and 30? If the Steelers win with backups, how do you justify that?

You can do it by quoting the new GM, John Dorsey, who said that Hue was a good coach, but needs to have players to succeed. These guys will want to show that they are those players.

There's no good answer here - but as we already have the bye locked up and two weeks to heal, I'd prefer to see them use the ones to start the game and see how it goes.

on the other hand, if we start landry and the jets blow out brady's ACL - I have to be honest that part of me would really laugh hard.
