How about the $300K a year he spends on his medical team... to ensure he is in top physical condition?

NE's front 7 is suspect at best. If NE signed him, there's a good chance he'll see the field and have a chance to contribute. Personally, it wouldn't surprise me if he made an impact vs KC and us.
You shouldn't say "you guys" because I didn't have negative opinion about getting Harrison back from Cincy. I wasn't against signing him for this year either. I'm sure he is still very strong, but how fast is he? how flexible, can he change directions quickly? At this point, I think there is probably one thing he might still be effective at, is the rip and bull rush and an outside move.

I actually wanted to see him play against Jacksonville to see if he could stop the run, but now I think it is too late. The hourglass is running out.

The folks who get paid to do this for a living (commentators, etc) would agree that he's a genius. I think it's pretty well a "No brainer" at that level. I guess we'll have to sit back and see what happens.

What have you seen thus far on the field to indicate that he can't rush the passer and stop the run at a high level? and you know damned well he can stop the run. That's a given. One thing I will agree on.. is the fact that "The hour glass is running out". At 39, it's inevitable. The problem is... that hour glass will still have sand in it in Feb.

I would suspect a LOT of information, which is PRECISELY why they signed him.

I mean I have a hard time believing that JH would betray the Steelers by giving the Pats any real info. Maybe I'm naive but Harrison is a Steeler for life. What if...and I truly mean what if...Tomlin and JH had a wink wink and JH feeds them bad info? Maybe I'm grasping but to see Harrison in a Pats uni will be heart breaking.

I'm sure he'll get 3 or 4 holding calls a game now that he's with the cheats.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

You are grasping. JH came back this year for one reason, to win a SB with the black and gold. It will be heart breaking to see my all time favorite Steeler going out as a freakin' PAT. I'm just about ready for the draft lol

Yeah I know I am. This honestly makes me think less of the Steelers FO. It wouldnt shock me if Harrison has a career game against the Steelers.

Your sentiment is shared by every Steeler fan, which again, begs the question as to why. Not why he would do this... WHY THE TEAM WOULD LET HIM GO??? I get the "official" party line ("it is just business", etc.) But if Tomlin didn't foresee this as a possibility, he is a fvcken idiot. He should have known that every Steeler fan would feel punched in the gut, and James' real potential to help the enemy (in this case, *).

I'm looking at all these fans online now, calling James a traitor. They're forgetting--the team "betrayed" HIM first, cutting him loose. All he's doing now is returning the favor. If he didn't go to the Patriots*, I'd actually secretly root for him to stick it to Tomlin by balling out.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

I’m glad none of us run the organization. You would think we just cut Joe Greene in his prime. And as far as information goes, I believe the Pats figured out the Steelers defense years ago without signing JH.

                        So don't worry folks.
All kidding aside, a similar thought did cross my mind that this was one of those "chess, not checkers" kind of moves. What if Harrison and Tomlin were orchestrating a dog and pony show to distract the cheaters from recognizing this ruse for what it is, a trojan horse. I get this theory entails a fair bit of tin foil, but what if they intentionally released Harrison with the intention of him feeding the Pats misinformation about our schemes?

Honestly, what probability would you give that? I'd say less than 5%, like 1%. That would be the highest level chess and war games ever seen in the NFL--it would definitely be an a truly all-time great coaching moves. You think it is a realistic possibility?

Right now, I'm really critical of Tomlin. However, if he orchestrated this, I'd instantly elevate him into Noll, Lombardi, Belicheat* territory.

So I'm a little confused here.. you start out by giving "Props" to the organization, and then end up with basically admitting that the Pats have owned us "Figured out our defense years ago".

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

                                TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher
