I just am not at all worked up about this. I don't think JH is going to make an impact at this point. People still want a reason to call Tomlin a moron and Belichick a genius. I think one of the many things Tomlin does well, is assess talent. I may have some small disagreements with him on that score, but I don't think he is far off in his judgement. If JH had a lot left, I think he would have played more and Tomlin would have found a way to keep him.

He probably thought he was doing Harrison a favor by releasing him since JH publicly voiced displeasure at his playing time. He gave him an opportunity to get some. 39 is old for a linebacker. Also he has been sitting around for a few months and was going on the injured list without playing much. Brady can play well at 40 because doesn't have to block, or run. He relies on the savvy and the arm talent.

If Harrison does well for the Patriots, I'll be surprised and the haters will have a lot of ammo then.

Steelers took TWO AND A.HALF YEARS to realize JH was still their best ROLB. I have no confidence the assessed JH correctly.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

        TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

Even if Harrison does next to nothing but we lose the AFCC game to the cheaters, this is a $hitty look.

Screens and quick passes into the flat on Harrison's side of the field all day. Not worried about this at all. The legend was more hype than reality for the past 18 months

He's not going to be playing more than a few token downs. He's there to provide valuable information about the Steeler defense during the AFC championship game.

Agreed. Love Harrison but I don’t understand why many are getting bent out of shape. He’s a 39 year old LB who may not even see the field in NE. Hate to see him go but whatever...time to move on.

OK we'll see if you're right. I don't think Harrison will light it up for the Patriots. First he has to fit into their system, which may take a bit of time. Then he has to oil up those joints and ligaments because if he tries to run too fast, he may pull or tear something. He was once great but time waits for no one. If all the past greats could be effective until they were 39, more would have done it.

I was right when I was excited as hell when we signed JH back from Cincy...while you guys were saying he had "Nothing left in the tank". Go ahead and admit it... you've SEEN nothing on the field to indicate he can't still rush the passer and stop the run at a high level. The dude is a freak. You seen any of his recent workout videos? How about the $300K a year he spends on his medical team... to ensure he is in top physical condition?

NE's front 7 is suspect at best. If NE signed him, there's a good chance he'll see the field and have a chance to contribute. Personally, it wouldn't surprise me if he made an impact vs KC and us.

                        Exactly.

And if Tomlin didn't foresee this potential, then he is a fvckn idiot. Now if he saw it... lets say he knew the * would bite and has things in mind to exploit such a substandard LB as James (he's worse than McCullers after all), then hats off to him.

I'm sticking with the former, until proven otherwise.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

Also, I hope KC makes it all a moot point, and beats them up in Foxboro.

Another great move by our coach and GM. lol. Cut one of our all time greats, so he can go make Bellichek even more of a genius.

Over reaction Tuesday. If BB is the genius many think he is, how much info can Harrison relay that the Pats don't already know?
