It's amazing how blatant it is but folks would rather lie to themselves than admit the sport they are watching is influenced drastically by the FO.

I mean, no one is saying the refs are forcing players to fumble or throw INT's but...\

How can you watch the refs call Troy's INT in Indy a fumble?
How can you watch Peyton dive on the ground, give himself up and then get up and complete a pass?
How can you watch Troy return a fumble for a score vs SD on the last play and they over rule it because Vegas would take a hit?
Again, then why invest the time, money, and emotion into a fake sport?

What you describe may not be WWE, but it is surely boxing and no one watches that anymore.

If New York was consciously trying to help the Pats win, Brady would never have been suspended. By far, losing him is the biggest threat to their dominance.

Fans of every team in the league can cherry pick decisions for or against them and paint a picture of them getting screwed and their rival helped. Conspiracy theories are more fun but general incompetence makes more sense.

BTW, if we want to talk "bullying and condescending", comments such as "Not all of us are robots or vulcans" (slapstick) and "folks would rather lie to themselves" (you) fall into those categories as much/more than anything I have ever said.

    At least be consistent.

yeah. The reason Brady was suspended was because other teams and fan outcry was huge.

Probably the same reason we will see the catch rule tweaked but it will always have a gray area because it gives the NFL the power to finess games for Vegas

              This is absolute truth.
Fact is that the whole "the league hates my team" mentality is the feeling of a certain kind of fan on every team.
Heck I bet you can ask Tiproast and he would say there are plenty of Pats fans saying the league hates them.

Certain fans will see errors and judgement calls as deliberate conspiracies every time.

Ask your typical fan whether our team is generally the victim or beneficiary of the leagues bias and most will say the league loves the Steelers. Why?

Because we have had success. Same deal with the Pats.

I believe that if those claiming league bias were fans of another team they ABSOLUTELY would see the league as biased against THAT team too.

they didn't call it a fumble, that we would have taken... they called it incomplete because they deemed that he didn't maintain control through contact with the ground... except, he did maintain contact through the ground and knocked it out of his hand with his knee as he got up.
Of note, the NFL later issued an apology for that - Mike Pierera (who was still in charge at the time) said the rule was improperly applied

And a mere TWO WEEKS LATER nearly every football fan in America not wearing black and gold, was convinced the league helped us win the superbowl.

Dude, I know you and others will hate me for this statement but I definitely see why folks say we get calls. That's because sometimes we DO get calls that go our way when playing franchises who aren't "on our level"

Seahawk fans still cry about it but I can admit there were a few calls that had me and a few other fans in Detroit going "ehhh.. that was kinda, ionno but I'll take it"

I've stated on here once or twice that I despise when fans (any fan) won't admit when a ref made a bad call that helped our team win a game. Not sure why but some fans refuse to do it because they don't want to admit the refs sucked during a game or gave us an advantage. I get it, no one wants to hear the refs GAVE them a game. There is always more game left to play but those calls hurt a teams chances, especially when playing a team who has better players.

Now, how many times has a Pats* fan said the refs stole a game? How many calls has a Pats fan had a major penalty called against them at a critical time that really hurt their chances?

I live in Charlotte and I specifically remember the Pats getting called for an offensive pass interference or 2 and they lost to the Panthers. I was legit shocked they didn't get the calls. You know what I also saw? I saw Brady curse out the refs from the 50 yard line until they got in the locker room.

That's something I have never seen before either.

You may not want to admit it because you don't want to believe the game you are watching isn't being severely impacted but I will repeat it again. Troy's TD vs SD. They wiped that TD off and it had no bearing on who won the game but it had a huge impact in Vegas.

This game.. hell, all professional games exist for betting. That's the real reason these games are still being played.

As far as a Pat fan saying the league hates them. Please find one so I can slap his ass back into reality. Every team has those fans but those fans are delusional.

One more thing. If Buffalo balls out this Sunday and the refs take away a TD on some bogus call.. lol.

that's because it's not a conspiracy against one specific team...

The NFL is all about putting together the best matchups, best postseason, best SB possible.

You really think Marshawn Lynch couldn't get a yard vs the Pats? Last thing the NFL wanted was a RB who refused to give interviews scoring the winning TD.

Yes, this is the point. Bad calls happen. Some help us others hurt us.

                            They only issue is "why".

I will ALWAYS contend that the logistics of some grand conspiracy to advantage or disadvantage teams are just so difficult to do the thought that it runs the league is ridiculous.

Are referees so loyal mto the league and not the game that NOBODY leaks anything?

Dizz, say you are a ref. Do you go along just to keep your job? Does nobody compliant in this have any integrity?
How does one recruit hundreds of people with stellar reputations for honesty who you can turn into cheaters?

What about officials who are fired? They could do some major damage if they wanted revenge.

Sure THIS TIME it came from the league offices, which surely makes the conspiracy idea look more possible. But on MOST occasions, you have to have game officials as part of this master plan to promote a team or the whole thing wont work.
