Trading stocks / market timing is a bad strategy.

Buy an index fund and hold it forever (or at least until you're drawing down your portfolio in retirement).

I agree that it's silly to trade him away now for nothing when he's got so much potential / athleticism. Ultimately, the difference between cutting him in 4-8 weeks and trading him now is probably a 7th round pick or so. But, I think he's still a #2 / #3 WR and he's got way more value than that (even as a decoy who runs flys and only gets the occasional target).

If he becomes a cancer after the next few games, do what you can to suspend him for as long as you can (4 games) and keep him away. It's too bad they wouldn't have the option to send him to a minor league affiliate in that case, but that's the NFL. Based on what people say about his actions at practice / on the field I don't think he'll be a cancer. He just needs to avoid social media.

Even if he plays really well for the Steelers this year, I think the weed history will mean that he's worth more to the team as a player than as a trade piece. I think he plays out his contract with us and then we let him walk. The only way I'd trade him is if Big Ben retires this off-season and we're terrible after the first 8 games or so. Then every pick probably matters...even the terrible one we'll get for Bryant.

Hopefully his agent is. I really want to see him have a long and productive career and would love it to be with the Steelers

Report: Martavis Bryant told he’s part of Steelers game plan for Week 10

Posted by Darin Gantt on October 31, 2017, 1:15 PM EDT

We’ll know for sure in a few hours when the trade window closes, but it appears the Steelers are firm on their stated position to not get rid of Martavis Bryant just because he wanted them to.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, a source said that the Steelers told the wantaway wide receiver that he was part of the game plan when they return from their bye week in Week 10, which would ostensibly reinforce their intent to hang onto him.

After weeks of pouting about his role and making remarks on social media and later to a reporter, Bryant was inactive Sunday night against the Lions.

And in his absence, rookie wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster had a breakout game, with seven catches for 193 yards, including a 97-yard touchdown.

That had to have gotten’s Bryant’s attention, but the reality is the Steelers have two primary playmakers who have to get the ball regularly (Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown), meaning the rest of the guys on offense are going to be fighting over the scraps each week.

                http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/10/31/report-martavis-bryant-told-hes-part-of-steelers-game-plan-for-week-10/
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Looks like he's staying. I'm glad. I think he can be an awesome weapon - but clearly he has to commit to that and build trust with Ben and the offense. I don't care if his motivation is to simply be the best, to prove everyone wrong or to simply resign himself to the fact he has to put up numbers here if he wants to be rewarded with a new contract or traded. Whatever it takes inside his head to encourage him to commit to catching every ball thrown his way and scoring with it. THAT will lead to more touches and more touches will lead to everything he desires........

So if MB turns it around and becomes a solid contributor will Mike Tomlin get credit for leadership and his tough love approach. Pretty certain some would never give him that credit.

Bryant was drafted by Cowhers GM.

I've said it before but I think Tomlin is personally angered. It feels like more than a "team" issue. It seems like a personal offense to Tomlin (dont blame him if thats the case as patient as the team has been).

Bryant and Coates yapped about JuJu on Twitter on draft night.
