Well Ruthless and BH I'm sorry I missed you guys. I came around the plaza a few times and met SN1 a couple of times and drank a beer together. That was cool, him and his family seem like great people.

BH my phone died on the way to the bar and then we hit a detour and never made it back. Sucks but that's how it happens sometimes. Next time we'll hook up. Now on to my trip.

The trip/game just rocked. A total of 14 of us were there and just had a blast. My trend in meeting high profile players/people stands to 4 in a row now. Right when I get off the plane I meet Tunch Ilkin and talk to him for a bit while I'm waiting for luggage. He is a cool guy. Our rooms were at the Hilton and we got the exec floor (thanks to my job and being a Diamond member with Hilton--too much travel will get that for you). We met Heath Miller and Willie Colon the night before the game. Now the funny part, none of us have ever been in anything that cold EVER so we're loading up on the thermals. At some point my cousins decide to go MC Hammer in the room (Pumps in a Bump).

    [youtube:1nvvx345]NdZVgKv_HzI[/youtube:1nvvx345]

We were rolling like crazy and couldn't control ourselves. So my cousin decides to go to the room next door in just his thermals on his legs and a old Steelers shirt to show them the dance. That was when we all met Tomlin, he was 4 rooms down. He just laughed and patted him on the back.

The trip just rocked! The game was the best I've ever been too, money well spent. Go Steelers!

Oops almost forgot, when I was checking out I talked to Deshea for 1/2 hour in the morning as he just finished talking to his charity corner. Man that guy looks very young. He looks like he's only 14 years old. He was very cool and let my kids get autographs and take pictures. Dream trip I tell you. I got the Post Gazette cover with him scoring the TD signed. Bam! One note I will never go to a game outside of September ever again too dang cold for me.

Okay...next time you come out, I'll make sure not only to meet up with you for a tailgate, but I am demanding to spend the whole weekend with your entire family if that means I get a chance to meet Tunch, Heath, Colon, Deshea, and Tomlin (no promises on doing any MC Hammer dances, though).
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

          Stanz:

No sweat on missing the meeting. You didn't miss a lot. There was a good after game crowd and it dissipated in the hour or so we were there. By the time we left I was hitting the wall anyway and since the room arrangements fell through (we were supposed to stay with friends in Zelienople), we simply decided to drive home.

I deal with the cold OK and, FWIW, it's really not supposed to get that cold. But, I understand why you wouldn't plan on another December trip.

Even so, you had quite a few worthwhile memories on this trip. Thanks for sharing all of that with the group. And, most importantly, thanks for bringing home the win!!!

We had some garden variety pre-travel glitches before leaving here. I was disappointed that we didn't meet. But if that is where you always tailgate, then we'll be back since we know where you are at and you have some cool tailgating neighbors so it'll be well worth it. It's a matter of time, but we'll be partying with SN1 soon.

For us, we had a great day even with the relative cold. The sun helped...a lot! Next time, I'm bringing enough cash to cover a couple ducats if we're not already going and we can find someone who looks reasonable to by from.

              Re: Steelers-Cryboys Tailgate

One thing is for sure...if a Planet Steelers tailgate is going to happen next season, it will be wise to schedule it for a September or October game.

It may be a good time to bandy about some ideas and see who would want to participate.

No sweat Buck. That is where I tailgate for all Sunday games. On MOndays/Thursdays, we tailgate in the adjacent lot because that lot is filled with employees cars. We will definitely hook something up for next season
