    Sorry Birt.
Pouncey missed ALL of that 2015 season when Ben was sacked only 20 times. You just didnt recall he missed that season.
While I do believe our scrub backup gave up a couple of stupid sacks that season, the "trend" towards less sacks overall is more about coaches and overall line talent than just Pouncey.
Fact is you just documented that Ben got sacked PLENTY with Pouncey until recent changes.
20 sacks in 12 games without Pouncey in 2015 kind of proves it.

    Lets expand on that:
    2010 32 sacks
    2011 40 sacks
    2012 30 sacks
    2013 42 sacks
    2014 33 sacks
2015 20 sacks (Ben was out for 4 games this season)
2016 17 sacks (Ben missed two games)

what is most telling is that Ben was sacked
    50 times in 2009
    46 times in 2008
    47 times in 2007
    46 times in 2006

I don't know how much more valuable a corner is than a franchise qb, but you can manage every team in the NFL but the Steelers.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

    TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

You're right, he missed one season that I didn't catch. When I listed them I went too fast. So he had ONE season where he didn't get killed without Pouncey, but we'll forget ALL THE OTHERS

Of course, that's also the season Ben missed the most time... so great

Freak injury, but he got hit less than before as a percentage.

Bens lowest sack percentage, in order:
          2016 3.2
          2015 4.1
          2014 5.1
          2012 6.3
          2013 6.7

All prior seasons precede Haley as OC have a sack percentage from 7 to double digits.

But he simply does not "move people" out of the way.....on an even average level, which is my beef with his being overrated.

If you cant be confident interior runs in short yardage, and are frequently stuffed when we try, when every main RB that is effective has to routinely dance or wait (Mendenhall and Bell) because there is typically no hole, you aint great.
^100%. His toughest matchups are against the beefy NTs. But in his defense, there are not a whole lot of Dawson's around the league that have to the power to push these mountains around. You take your choice. Steelers decided athleticism > brawn.

Pretty sure if Talib were a Steeler it might have made a difference.
AB was out that game. Ben threw for 389 earlier that season vs that Broncos defense. AB had 189 yards and 2 TD's.

We were on our 3rd RB and without AB and driving for the lead in Denver. That's not a good example.

oh, and Ben had 340 without AB and Bryant had 154 yards in the air and 40 on the ground.

Did you forget the point? All you just said is meaningless and makes my point.

Ben tore it up and clearly ONLY Aqib (allowed 2 passes for 17 total yard by receivers) could defend yet you deny his clear role in the victory?

they won so everyone plays a role in the victory but no, I'm not going to give Talib a heaping amount of praise when we were without AB. Talib is good but I need to watch the game again before accepting that stat as fact since Ben had 340 passing yards.

Coates had 2 catches for 61 yards
Heyward Bey had 2 for 60
                  Bryant had 9 for 154
                  James had 1 for 22
                  Wheaton had 5 for 30.

I definitely need to see the film cause I have no idea if Talib was matched up vs the best WR all day or if he sticks to one side of the field.

Are you using film or using stats that show where he made the tackle on a reception? Cause Bryant had a field day in the air and every other WR had a deep pass play except for Wheaton.
